📋 Description

  • • As a Senior Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions at Remote Referral Board Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the compliant and seamless management of employee exits for Remote's external workforce. This position is critical to maintaining the gold standard in HR practices, directly influencing our ability to sustain and extend compliance coverage across over 80 countries.
  • • You will be the primary point of contact for managing all aspects of employee departures, from voluntary resignations to involuntary terminations, with an unwavering focus on legal compliance, exceptional quality, and delivering a positive customer experience. Your expertise will guide clients through the complexities of global employment transitions, ensuring every process is handled with the utmost care and sensitivity.
  • • Beyond managing exits, you will provide essential first-level Employee Relations support. This involves advising clients on workplace concerns, mediating disputes, and coordinating the appropriate internal and external resources to resolve issues effectively and proactively.
  • • A key aspect of this role is driving continuous improvement within the Employee Lifecycle team. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and the integration of innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and elevate the customer and employee experience.
  • • Your responsibilities will include independently managing complex, end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions. This requires a deep understanding of diverse legal frameworks and best practices in regions such as EMEA, APAC, and AMER.
  • • You will provide expert guidance on a range of HR matters, including termination, resignation, and transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, always ensuring adherence to legal requirements and company policies.
  • • Leading and facilitating crucial meetings with clients and external employees will be a significant part of your role. This includes conducting workforce reduction consultation meetings, administrative hearings, and negotiations for separations and settlements, ensuring all outcomes are delivered professionally and legally sound.
  • • You will be expected to influence and negotiate positive outcomes in challenging termination scenarios, adeptly navigating multiple stakeholders with potentially competing interests through intricate and sometimes lengthy processes.
  • • Close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders is essential. You will liaise with and coordinate teams such as Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Customer Success, and external counsel, government bodies, and trade unions to ensure all offboarding activities and audits are compliant.
  • • Accurate and timely drafting, tailoring, and administration of all termination and supplementary documents will be a core duty. Maintaining meticulous employee records with strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations is paramount.
  • • You will process offboarding procedures within Remote's internal HRIS platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of an employee's exit are managed correctly and promptly.
  • • As a trusted colleague and subject matter expert, you will act as a first point of informal escalation, providing expertise, mentoring, and guidance to more junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • • You will offer comprehensive guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources, assisting clients in navigating complex workplace scenarios and understanding progressive disciplinary approaches, documentation requirements, and best practices for handling difficult situations.
  • • Conducting thorough preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying key facts, applicable local regulations, and potential paths forward will be crucial for effective ER support.
  • • You will serve as a trusted resource for both internal and external stakeholders on employee relations matters, ensuring the appropriate and sensitive handling of complex cases.
  • • Tracking and monitoring ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and appropriate coordination with relevant stakeholders, will be part of your daily workflow.
  • • You will be the go-to subject-matter expert for internal and external queries on all offboarding and first-level employee relations matters, working in conjunction with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.
  • • Proactively identifying opportunities, advocating for, and driving process improvements, automation, product development, and overall enhancements to the customer and employee experience through the offboarding and employee relations processes is a key expectation.
  • • You will determine methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments, exercising sound judgment in selecting techniques and evaluating outcomes, always considering the broader needs of the Lifecycle team and Remote as a whole.
  • • This role thrives in a fast-paced, asynchronous, and international environment, requiring the ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team. You will balance multiple priorities and adapt to evolving systems and processes, embracing innovation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
