- • Pivotal Health Inc. is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare reimbursement, addressing the pervasive issue of underpayment by insurance companies to healthcare providers. Our mission is to empower providers with a sophisticated, AI-driven platform that simplifies complex reimbursement workflows, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their high-quality care. We combine cutting-edge software, insightful data analytics, and dedicated service to create a seamless experience that tackles administrative burdens and recovers rightful reimbursements.
- • As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and scaling the financial infrastructure of Pivotal Health. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is instrumental in managing and enhancing critical accounting operations. Your responsibilities will encompass weekly customer billing, meticulous invoice and expense processing, comprehensive reconciliations, and significant contributions to the monthly close process. This role demands an individual who can instill structure and predictability into a rapidly evolving financial function, especially as our customer base is projected to expand significantly in the coming year.
- • You will be entrusted with substantial ownership, expected to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, meticulously analyze data to understand underlying issues, and propose effective resolutions. A key aspect of this role involves safeguarding the integrity of our financial reports by asking pertinent questions and ensuring accuracy. As we embark on implementing a new ERP system and prepare for our inaugural financial audit, your expertise will be crucial in transitioning our accounting function from a reactive, task-oriented approach to a durable, scalable, and proactive foundation.
- • Core Accounting Operations: You will take full ownership of essential accounting functions, including but not limited to, weekly customer billing cycles, accurate cash postings, thorough review of expense reports, efficient Accounts Payable (AP) processing, detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and managing key components of the monthly and year-end close procedures. Your focus will be on ensuring the highest levels of accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all these fundamental workflows.
- • Building a Predictable Close Process: A significant part of your contribution will involve designing, strengthening, and documenting our month-end and year-end closing processes. The objective is to evolve from reactive problem-solving to a robust, structured, and predictable accounting cycle. This includes enhancing internal controls, improving documentation standards, and establishing clear accountability to ensure we consistently meet deadlines with confidence and accuracy.
- • Cross-Functional Business Partnership: You will act as a key financial liaison and trusted partner to various departments, including Operations, Sales, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Your collaboration will be essential for matters related to invoicing, commission calculations, intercompany reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will proactively coordinate with these teams to resolve discrepancies, provide financial insights, and enhance overall financial clarity across the organization.
- • ERP System Implementation and Optimization Support: You will play an active and integral role in the implementation and ongoing optimization of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This includes participating in system testing, data validation, report design, and contributing to process improvements to ensure the ERP system effectively supports our current needs and future scalability.
- • Systems Improvement and Manual Work Reduction: A critical responsibility will be to identify inefficiencies, potential risks, and areas for automation within our current accounting processes. You will be expected to recommend and implement practical improvements that enhance accuracy, reduce manual effort and friction, and strategically prepare the company for sustained growth and rigorous audit requirements.
- • Audit Readiness and Scalability Preparation: You will be instrumental in ensuring our financial records are meticulously maintained, well-documented, and fully prepared for our first financial audit. This involves establishing best practices and robust controls that will support our continued growth and maintain compliance.
