Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Partner with multiple product teams to extract insights from data and build AI-powered features and automated workflows across Kaseya’s IT management and cybersecurity software platform.
- • Enable product teams by teaching, coaching, and guiding them on data and machine learning best practices, including feature engineering, model evaluation, and operational reliability.
- • Lead by example through hands-on development of complex data analysis, ML modeling, architecture, and implementation tasks to accelerate team delivery while mentoring junior data and ML engineers.
- • Explore and analyze large-scale datasets using Python, pandas, and PySpark to uncover patterns in user behavior, content topics, and expertise dimensions.
- • Apply matrix factorization, clustering, and dimensionality reduction techniques to identify latent factors and prepare data for modeling.
- • Create, tune, and productionize machine learning models for classification, recommendation systems, similarity scoring, and ranking tasks that power core product features.
- • Design and implement AI-driven data ingestion flows that transform unstructured inputs—such as support tickets, emails, forms, and system logs—into structured, actionable data for downstream systems.
- • Build automated workflows where AI can auto-fill or suggest metadata, proactively request missing information via email or messaging, surface similar past solutions to assist users, or fully resolve simple, repetitive Level 1 requests when safe.
- • Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate ML models into production systems with robust monitoring, fallback mechanisms, and guardrails to ensure reliability and safety.
- • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, scope, and prioritize AI opportunities within their product areas, translating business problems into actionable data science initiatives.
- • Define reusable patterns, templates, and standards for data ingestion, feature creation, model usage, and evaluation to enable consistent, scalable AI development across teams.
- • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and architectural lead for data and ML-heavy features, stepping in to resolve complex modeling or workflow automation challenges.
- • Mentor junior data engineers and analysts through code and model reviews, pair programming, and guidance on metrics, experimentation, and production-grade ML practices.
- • Help establish and socialize organizational standards for experimentation, documentation, responsible AI usage, and model governance across all product teams.
- • Maintain proficiency with modern data warehouses and data lakes, leveraging SQL for complex querying and analysis.
- • Work with APIs and microservices to ensure seamless integration of ML models into production environments with attention to performance, latency, and scalability.
- • Contribute to the development of a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement in applied machine learning across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in data science, ML engineering, or a similar applied role with a strong record of shipping production data/ML features
- • Strong Python skills and experience with pandas for data analysis
- • Experience with PySpark or other distributed data processing frameworks
- • Solid understanding of ML fundamentals including supervised learning, classification models, matrix factorization/embeddings, and model evaluation (offline and online metrics)
- • Proficiency with PyTorch or a similar deep learning framework
- • Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouses/data lakes
- • Experience working with APIs, microservices, and production integration of ML models including performance and reliability considerations
- • Experience serving as a technical lead or senior individual contributor across multiple teams or projects
- • Proven ability to translate business problems into data/ML projects and clearly explain tradeoffs to non-ML stakeholders
- • Track record of mentoring junior engineers/analysts and improving team practices (e.g., review culture, testing, monitoring)
- • Strong communication skills and ability to drive alignment across product, engineering, and operations
🏖️ Benefits
- • Base salary range of $360,000 to $380,000 CAD
- • Remote work opportunity across Canada
- • Opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, IT management, and cybersecurity for a global SaaS platform
- • Exposure to high-impact, production-grade ML systems managing over 15 million endpoints worldwide
