📋 Description

• We are looking for a Senior Staff Education Engineer to build an online education strategy that leverages just-in-time learning via generative AI and supports awareness and adoption of 1Password's developer tools.
• The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of technical experience in software or platform engineering, developer advocacy, solution engineering, or other fields, and 3+ years of experience crafting educational content and experiences for developers.
• The Senior Staff Education Engineer will work alongside the existing customer success and PMM teams to shape 1Password's education strategy for a new era of developer learning.
• The role will involve building evergreen, code-complete, hands-on examples that teach developers how to use 1Password's products in the most technically-relevant contexts, educating users through in-person labs, conference presentations, and other engagements, and aligning opinionated best practices for using 1Password's developer tooling.
• The Senior Staff Education Engineer will also help 1Password employees and community members create and publish educational content geared toward developers that address real-world use cases and have practical applications.
• The role will involve strategizing the use of data to evaluate education formats and prioritize ones that effectively generate awareness and adoption at scale.
• The Senior Staff Education Engineer will work with the Director of Developer Relations and collaborate with the Engineering, Product, and Design teams to integrate AI across the full software and product development lifecycle.
• The ideal candidate will have experience using data to optimize documentation, evaluate content strategy, identify content gaps, drive traffic, and generate engagement.
• The Senior Staff Education Engineer will also have experience collaborating with technical product marketing, social teams, customer support, SMEs, and Engineering blogs and technical communication.
• Bonus points will be given for experience dealing with security-conscious developer communities or products (Identity, Auth, DevSecOps).
• The role will involve creating and delivering reusable, in-person labs, conference presentations, and other low-cognitive-load content that will generate continued engagement and enable others.
• The Senior Staff Education Engineer will also help 1Password create content that AI can surface, and that addresses real human concerns and technical education needs.

🎯 Requirements

• Technical Fluency: 7+ years in technical roles including software or platform engineering, developer advocacy, solution engineering, or other fields.
• Education Experience: 3+ years crafting educational content and experiences for developers, including hands-on tutorials, documentation, written best practices, conference presentations, instructor-led workshops or labs.
• Communication: Exceptional skills at written and verbal communication.
• Platform Collaboration: Proven collaborations with the teams building the content platform to improve usability, searchability, and AI compatibility.
• Data driven choices: Experience using data to optimize documentation, evaluate content strategy, identify content gaps, drive traffic, and generate engagement.
• Cross functional collaboration: Experience collaborating with technical product marketing, social teams, customer support, SMEs, Engineering blogs and technical communication.
