📋 Description
- • The Senior Staff Software Engineer is one of Nue's senior-most individual contributors, responsible for shaping the technical direction of the platform across multiple product teams, setting multi-year technical strategy, and driving architecture decisions that other teams build on.
- • Day to day, the role involves defining technical roadmaps, leading implementation of foundational systems, shipping high-leverage code, mentoring senior engineers, driving engineering excellence, and serving as the company's senior technical voice in critical customer and partner conversations.
- • Nue is an AI-powered revenue architecture platform that unifies CPQ, billing, and revenue lifecycle management, working with customers like OpenAI, Chilipiper, Glean, HootSuite, and Mews to enable revenue acceleration and operational efficiency at scale.
- • The person can learn and achieve by leading multi-year technical strategy, architecting systems used across teams, mentoring engineers into Staff and Senior Staff roles, shaping engineering standards, and influencing how companies worldwide monetize and grow through groundbreaking platform work.
🎯 Requirements
- • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with a sustained track record at Staff level or higher in a high-bar engineering org
- • Demonstrated track record of designing and shipping foundational systems used by multiple teams
- • Deep expertise in at least one modern backend stack (Java/Spring, Node/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar) with strong fluency in at least one more
- • Strong systems-design ability in distributed systems, data modeling, consistency trade-offs, performance, scaling, and reliability
- • Hands-on production expertise across cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability tooling
- • Strong fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) and a track record of accelerating work through them
