📋 Description
- • Senior Staff Software Engineer role focused on advancing Fivetran’s Managed Data Lake product, a critical component enabling reliable, scalable data access for thousands of global customers — directly supporting the company’s mission to make data as simple and reliable as electricity.
- • Design, develop, implement, and operate highly reliable large-scale data lake systems using Java, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and open-source technologies like DuckDB, Apache Polaris, Iceberg, and Delta Lake, while driving performance, latency, and availability improvements across distributed services.
- • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and SRE teams to translate customer needs into cutting-edge capabilities, ensure operational excellence, resolve fault-tolerance and scale challenges, and contribute to open-source projects that elevate industry standards.
- • Work within a senior, high-impact engineering team at Fivetran — a company valued at over $5.6 billion with a strong culture rooted in ‘Get Stuck In, Do the Right Thing, and One Team, One Dream’ — where technical leadership shapes organizational standards and influences cross-functional innovation.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on or research experience maintaining and operating high-performance containerized applications spanning multiple services
- • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, deployment, service orchestration, software optimizations, and performance engineering of highly distributed services
- • Proven track record of leading and delivering large, complicated projects
- • Strong development skills in Java
- • Experience running and debugging Kubernetes containerized services
- • Solid experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
