- • As a Senior/Staff Web Engineer at Finary SAS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the web experience for over 850,000 users who rely on the platform to track assets, manage budgets, invest, and learn about finance—directly contributing to the mission of democratizing financial empowerment through technology.
- • You will build and ship end-to-end features on Finary’s web platform using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, collaborating closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver polished, high-performance user experiences that align with the company’s vision of a seamless, all-in-one investing hub.
- • Beyond feature development, you will actively contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction, influencing how the frontend scales and integrates with backend systems written in Rust, Ruby, and Python, ensuring long-term maintainability and performance.
- • You will leverage AI-native tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to amplify your productivity, embracing a mindset where manual coding is minimized and your value lies in judgment, system design, and taste—core tenets of Finary’s engineering philosophy.
- • You will help raise the bar on code quality, developer experience, and engineering practices across the team, mentoring peers and promoting best practices in a high-autonomy, high-velocity environment where shipping quality code is prioritized over excessive process.
- • Working within a fluid squad model (Track, Investment, Crypto, Finary One) alongside a platform team of ~30 engineers, you will enjoy stability within your squad while retaining the flexibility to move across teams as priorities evolve, fostering broad impact and continuous learning.
- • You will gain deep exposure to modern fintech challenges, including real-time data handling, secure financial transactions, and performance optimization at scale, all while working in a mission-driven culture that values impact, trust, and continuous iteration.
- • This role offers the opportunity to grow into technical leadership, shaping not only the product but also the engineering culture of a fast-growing, well-backed startup that has raised €25M in Series B funding and is poised for continued expansion.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with Next.js experience considered a plus
- • Solid understanding of backend systems and computer science fundamentals to effectively collaborate on API contracts and system design
- • Proven ability to use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to multiply productivity, demonstrating a forward-thinking engineering mindset
- • Senior or Staff-level experience: you contribute to architecture, mentor peers, and drive technical decisions beyond feature delivery
- • Radical ownership mindset: you take initiative, move fast, and deliver outcomes without waiting for permission
- • Fluency in English (written and spoken), as the engineering team operates primarily in English
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid work model with teammates across France and Europe, including in-person weeks in Paris six times per year (travel and accommodation fully covered)
- • Access to modern stack and best-in-class AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) provided by the company
- • High-impact role: build products that help hundreds of thousands of users take control of their financial future
- • Collaborative, high-performing environment with A-player engineers who challenge and elevate each other
- • Compensation range from €80K to €130K (Level 4 to Level 5), with flexibility for outstanding profiles
- • Opportunity to work in a well-funded, mission-driven startup backed by PayPal Ventures, Y Combinator, and other prominent investors
