• • Harris Computer Systems Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the performance, security, and availability of our critical server infrastructure and applications. You will be instrumental in deploying new solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the seamless operation of our global network.
• • As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of our server environments, encompassing configuration, installation, upgrades, performance monitoring, security hardening, and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes a strong focus on Microsoft Windows Servers and Azure cloud services, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and meet stringent availability requirements.
• • A key aspect of this role involves supporting highly-available, cross-enterprise middleware applications deployed across a large, global network. You will leverage your expertise in application administration, architecture, and deployment processes to ensure these critical systems are robust and reliable.
• • You will be expected to manage multiple tasks concurrently, demonstrating excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively, especially in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• • A thorough understanding of Change Control/RFC (Request for Change) processes is essential, ensuring that all system modifications are planned, documented, and executed with minimal disruption.
• • Your problem-solving capabilities will be paramount. You will tackle complex technical challenges, analyzing situations and data to evaluate various factors, often requiring interdisciplinary collaboration to arrive at optimal solutions.

• • This role requires a solid knowledge base of common system administration tools, networking principles, load balancers, monitoring solutions like Logic Monitor, and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.

• • A significant responsibility will be managing security remediation efforts to maintain a compliant and secure environment, adhering to industry best practices and company policies.
• • Experience with remote hardware and software monitoring and administration is crucial for maintaining system health and proactively addressing potential issues.
• • You will work within strict Change Control frameworks, often with limited maintenance windows, requiring meticulous planning and execution.
• • Exceptional troubleshooting skills are a non-negotiable requirement for this position, enabling you to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
• • The ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment is important, fostering collaboration and understanding across global teams.
• • Familiarity with Data Center operations and vendor management will be beneficial in coordinating infrastructure-related activities.
• • You will be expected to utilize AI/LLM/GPT tools to enhance daily tasks, including prompt-driven generation of scripts and configurations, summarization of logs, automation of runbooks, support for incident triage, and documentation creation. Basic prompt engineering skills and an awareness of privacy and data handling are necessary.
• • Responsibilities include the configuration, installation, upgrades, performance monitoring, security, and continual improvement of servers and applications, specifically supporting Microsoft SQL Servers, SSL Certificates, IIS, Clusters, and the Windows Environment.
• • You will be responsible for the deployment of new solutions, strictly adhering to documented processes and best practices.
• • Proactive monitoring and timely resolution of issues will be a core part of your daily activities.
• • You will drive continuous improvement and enhancement of applications and Azure/Windows-related services, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements.

• • Maintaining positive relationships with clients, end-users, vendors, and consultants is essential for successful project delivery and ongoing support.
• • You will maintain current working knowledge in systems and hardware, integrating new developments into future enterprise systems.
• • Collaboration with Development Teams will be necessary to provide support and feedback for troubleshooting application and deployment issues.
• • Specific Azure responsibilities include deployment and configuration of Azure PaaS services like App Services and Azure Functions.
• • You will be involved in CI/CD for Azure, utilizing Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines for application deployments.
• • Governance and Cost Management within Azure, including Azure Policy, resource tagging, management groups, and Cost Management tools, will be part of your remit.
• • Automation and Scripting using Azure CLI, PowerShell (Az module), Logic Apps, and Automation Runbooks is expected.
• • Monitoring and Observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and setting up alerts and dashboards are critical functions.
