Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Lead the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Intelerad’s enterprise Linux-based medical-imaging platform, directly influencing the speed and accuracy of radiology reads that affect millions of patient outcomes each year.
  • • Serve as the highest technical escalation point within Global Support for complex OS, storage, networking, and application-integration issues on RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE deployments in hospital data centers and private-cloud environments.
  • • Architect and document standardized Linux build, hardening, and patching procedures that meet FDA, HIPAA, and SOC-2 controls while maintaining 99.99 % uptime SLA for life-critical PACS, VNA, and AI routing workflows.
  • • Automate repeatable support tasks with Bash, Python, or Ansible to shrink mean-time-to-restore (MTTR) from hours to minutes; your code will be peer-reviewed and promoted to the global run-book for 24Ă—7 follow-the-sun teams.
  • • Partner with Release Management to validate new product versions on virtualized (VMware/KVM) and bare-metal fleets, capturing IOPS, latency, and GPU-accelerated throughput benchmarks that guide go/no-go decisions for quarterly feature launches.
  • • Mentor junior engineers through war-room simulations and post-incident reviews, instilling a culture of blameless root-cause analysis and measurable corrective actions that reduce recurring tickets by 30 % year-over-year.
  • • Own the Linux security vulnerability management program: triage CVE feeds, test kernel and glibc patches in a containerized replica of the customer stack, and schedule zero-downtime rolling updates across 200+ remote sites.
  • • Build observability dashboards in Grafana/Prometheus or Elastic that correlate application latency with NFS, iSCSI, and GPU metrics, giving radiologists sub-second visibility into study-loading times.
  • • Collaborate with Product Engineering to influence next-generation container orchestration strategy (Kubernetes/OpenShift), ensuring legacy DICOM services coexist with cloud-native microservices without data loss or regulatory drift.
  • • Participate in a one-in-five-week on-call rotation; when the pager rings, you’ll diagnose kernel panics, storage multipath failures, or database deadlocks on multi-tenant systems that archive 1.2 billion images annually.
  • • Travel up to 15 % (post-pandemic) to high-value health systems for on-site health checks, performance tuning, and executive briefings that convert satisfied customers into reference advocates and expansion revenue.
  • • Translate intricate technical findings into executive summaries for CIOs and CMIOs, quantifying downtime cost savings and patient-throughput gains that secure renewal and upsell budgets.
  • • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion inside Intelerad’s remote-first culture by leading virtual tech-talks, contributing to hiring rubrics, and sponsoring employee-resource groups that widen the talent pipeline.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years supporting enterprise Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) in 24Ă—7, HIPAA or FDA-regulated environments with demonstrable experience hardening, patching, and automating at scale.
  • • Expert-level scripting in Bash and Python; hands-on Ansible or SaltStack for configuration management; familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • • Deep troubleshooting of TCP/IP, NFS, iSCSI, DHCP, DNS, and firewall rules in multi-site, high-availability clusters; packet-capture analysis with tcpdump/wireshark.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferred.
  • • Working knowledge of VMware vSphere, KVM, or OpenStack virtualization; exposure to GPU pass-through and CUDA drivers for medical-imaging workloads is a strong plus.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • 100 % remote-first workforce with quarterly “work-from-anywhere” stipend and $1,500 home-office setup budget so you can build the ergonomic workspace of your dreams.
  • • Unlimited PTO, a minimum of 15 encouraged days, plus one paid volunteer day each year to give back to your community or healthcare charity of choice.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage effective day one, with 90 % of premiums paid by Intelerad for employees and 75 % for dependents.
  • • Annual professional-development fund up to $3,500 for conferences, certifications, or advanced degrees—recent teammates have earned RHCE, AWS, and CKA credentials on us.
