📋 Description

• Support U.S. indirect tax compliance including sales and use tax, telecommunications tax, and related filings
• Review and reconcile tax filings, tax reports, and general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage tax notices and provide support during audit responses from state and local tax authorities
• Assist with U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and quarterly tax provision processes under ASC 740
• Support tax-related accounting tasks including reconciliations and preparation of journal entries
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Product, Engineering, and external advisors on tax-related matters
• Drive high-impact tax projects such as telecommunications tax initiatives, nexus reviews, taxability assessments, remediation efforts, and tax technology implementations
• Contribute to tax technology, process improvement, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Maintain organized documentation and workpapers to ensure compliance readiness and audit support
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Tax to execute strategic tax initiatives across the function
• Engage in continuous process optimization to scale tax operations within a growing public technology company
• Apply advanced Excel skills to analyze complex tax data and support reporting requirements
• Work independently with ownership over assigned projects while meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external advisors to resolve tax compliance and technical issues
• Contribute to the development of scalable tax processes aligned with the company’s growth trajectory
• Participate in evaluating and implementing tax technology platforms such as Avalara or similar systems
• Ensure all tax activities are documented and maintained in accordance with audit and regulatory standards
• Support the expansion of tax capabilities in a SaaS and telecommunications-focused business environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of tax experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
