- • Serve as the primary preparer of Veeva’s domestic income tax provision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- • Coordinate and manage all income tax compliance workflows in collaboration with external tax advisors and auditors to meet federal, state, and local filing deadlines.
- • Own end-to-end processes for internal and external information requests related to tax reporting, including gathering, validating, and submitting required documentation.
- • Drive non-income tax compliance initiatives, including sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax obligations across U.S. jurisdictions.
- • Perform and reconcile tax accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis, identifying discrepancies and resolving variances in partnership with accounting teams.
- • Analyze tax law changes and regulatory updates to assess their impact on Veeva’s domestic tax position and recommend appropriate actions.
- • Support annual tax audit preparations by organizing documentation, responding to examiner inquiries, and collaborating with external auditors.
- • Maintain up-to-date tax calendars and tracking systems to ensure timely filings and payments across all applicable tax types.
- • Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, and Treasury to align tax strategies with broader business objectives and operational changes.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes by identifying automation opportunities and implementing controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- • Prepare clear, concise documentation and presentations for internal stakeholders and senior leadership on tax positions, exposures, and compliance status.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive tax data and communications with government agencies.
- • Stay current with evolving IRS and state tax authority guidance to ensure Veeva’s compliance posture remains robust and proactive.
- • Support ad hoc tax projects as needed, including mergers and acquisitions, entity restructuring, and intercompany transaction analysis.
- • Act as a key point of contact for internal teams seeking tax guidance on operational decisions with potential tax implications.
- • Ensure all tax deliverables meet internal control standards and are completed within established timelines without compromise to quality.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax, with focus on domestic U.S. income tax provision and compliance
- • CPA license or in progress with clear path to completion
- • Proficiency in tax compliance software (e.g., Vertex, OneSource, or similar)
- • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 740 accounting standards for income taxes
- • Experience managing external tax advisors and audit relationships
