  • • This Senior Technical Accountant role is central to our finance team's success during a period of explosive growth. As we strategically prepare for our next major phase of corporate scaling, you will be instrumental in architecting our technical accounting policies, leading complex consolidations, and driving our financial reporting processes. This is not a traditional, siloed 'back-office' position. We are seeking a forward-thinking professional who embraces AI as an essential teammate and actively utilizes a modern technology stack, including NetSuite, Abacum, and Ramp, to automate routine tasks and enhance efficiency. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between intricate GAAP standards and strategic business decision-making, ensuring our financial operations are robust and scalable.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical accounting functions. You will be responsible for researching and meticulously documenting complex accounting positions, including those related to ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), and ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), translating them into clear, defensible technical memos. A significant part of your role will involve executing key components of the monthly close process, which includes preparing sophisticated journal entries, performing thorough balance sheet reconciliations, and conducting detailed flux (variance) analysis to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger. Furthermore, you will be tasked with designing and implementing scalable accounting processes and institutional-grade internal controls that are capable of supporting 2x–3x transaction volume growth without a proportional increase in headcount.
  • • You will lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, building out the rigorous reporting framework necessary for comprehensive external disclosures, including Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and detailed footnotes. A crucial aspect of this role involves strategic business partnering, where you will collaborate directly with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams. Your input will be vital in structuring complex deals and new product launches, ensuring favorable revenue recognition and operational feasibility are addressed *before* contracts are finalized. You will also own the global consolidation process for our multi-entity structure and lead the accounting workstream for due diligence and post-acquisition integration (ASC 805) as we pursue strategic M&A opportunities. As a technical mentor, you will guide junior accounting staff, conduct first-level reviews of workpapers, and elevate the team’s overall technical proficiency. Embracing our AI-first approach, you will actively identify and implement AI-driven workflows to streamline data reconciliation, anomaly detection, and reporting cycles. Finally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, leveraging your Big 4 experience to manage inquiries and ensure a consistently clean audit trail.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including a foundational period in Big 4 Public Accounting (Audit).
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is required.
  • • Deep understanding of SaaS accounting principles, particularly ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 805 (Business Combinations).
  • • Proven ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • • Proactive and meticulous approach to financial reporting and documentation, maintaining an 'audit-ready' posture year-round.
  • • Proficiency in advanced Google Sheets functions (complex formulas, index/match, data visualization) and a strong aptitude for leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • • Experience with NetSuite, Abacum, Ramp, Carta, and BambooHR is highly preferred.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • High visibility role reporting directly to leadership, offering a front-row seat to a high-profile IPO journey and aggressive M&A strategy.
  • • Opportunity to work in a modern finance environment that invests in cutting-edge tools, allowing focus on high-level strategy over manual data entry.
  • • Engage in mission-driven work for a 'Unicorn' company that provides a critical data link between connected devices and 911 agencies, directly contributing to saving lives.
  • • Competitive salary ($100,000 - $130,000), comprehensive benefits package, and equity participation.
  • • A dynamic, flexible, and fun startup work environment with a highly talented and passionate team.
