- • Serve as the formal technical authority for the UK&I Applied business, providing final technical sign-off on complex and high-risk HVAC solutions.
- • Lead structured design review and governance processes to ensure technical robustness across all bids and projects.
- • Validate system selection, performance assumptions, and application suitability for HVAC equipment including chillers, heat pumps, hydronic systems, air handling units (AHUs, RTUs, FCUs), and HVAC controls.
- • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks in customer proposals and project deliveries to ensure safety, compliance, and performance standards.
- • Engage directly with customers on strategic or high-risk opportunities to provide technical expertise and build trust.
- • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers and Technical Specialists to enhance technical capability and performance.
- • Design and deliver structured technical training programmes in collaboration with factory teams and Product Managers to upskill internal teams.
- • Drive technical standards and governance across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery functions to ensure consistency and quality in solution delivery.
- • Ensure all technical solutions align with Carrier’s innovation goals in climate control, air quality, and sustainable energy systems.
- • Maintain strong technical oversight of packaged rooftops, chillers, condensing units, dry coolers, air-cooled condensers, split DX systems, controls, fan coils, and packaged systems.
- • Influence cross-functionally within a matrixed organisation to align technical decisions with commercial and operational objectives.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- • Maintain proficiency in MS Office applications to support reporting, analysis, and documentation requirements.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong HVAC technical background across chillers and heat pumps, hydronic systems, air handling systems (AHUs, RTUs, FCUs), and HVAC controls
- • Experience in technical governance, design review, or senior engineering roles
- • Experience leading or developing technical teams
- • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- • Strong ability to influence within a matrix organisation
- • Excellent communication skills
