- • The Senior Technical Workforce Trainer at VSC Fire & Security, Inc. plays a critical role in ensuring that fire alarm inspection employees are properly trained to uphold life safety and property protection standards across the Southeast. This position is essential to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality craftsmanship, integrity, and reliable service by developing and delivering training that enhances technical competence and compliance.
- • Day to day, the trainer will confer with management and supervisors to identify training needs, formulate teaching outlines, and develop presentations and training aids such as manuals, demonstration models, and multimedia tools. They will conduct on-the-job, refresher, and system training sessions, coordinate schedules with Inspection and Division Managers, maintain trainee records, report on progress, and assist employees with task-specific guidance. The role also involves making process improvement suggestions, communicating with customers and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), and traveling to various job sites, including confined spaces and elevated areas, to evaluate conditions and deliver training.

- • In this role, the individual will deepen their expertise in fire protection systems, NFPA standards, and state/local codes while honing advanced training, leadership, and communication skills. They will gain experience in corporate training coordination, instructional design, and cross-departmental collaboration, positioning them as a subject matter expert and potential leader in workforce development within the life safety industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 10 years of Fire Industry Experience, with a minimum of 5 years of specific discipline experience in fire systems, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance.
- • Proven presentation and training skills for individuals and groups, both in-person and virtual, with strong communication abilities.
- • Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA, regulatory standards, and state and local codes, along with exemplary documentation proficiency.
- • NICET level III certification preferred if applicable.
- • Ability to travel to client locations and job sites, use ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and access confined spaces, attics, basements, and cooler installations.
- • Valid driver’s license required for use of company vehicle.
