Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end test automation strategy for our passwordless identity platform, designing and maintaining robust frameworks that validate biometric authentication flows, cryptographic key exchanges, and zero-trust policy enforcement across web, mobile, and edge environments.
- • Architect scalable test suites that simulate millions of concurrent identity verifications, ensuring sub-second response times while handling real-world variables like poor lighting for facial recognition, noisy audio for voiceprints, and varied network conditions.
- • Partner with product, cryptography, and DevOps teams to embed quality gates into every stage of our CI/CD pipeline, from commit to production, using containerized test environments that mirror our global, multi-region infrastructure.
- • Lead the charge on security-focused testing, crafting automated scenarios that probe for spoofing attacks, replay attempts, and side-channel leaks, while staying ahead of emerging threats in biometric and post-quantum cryptography.
- • Drive performance and reliability benchmarks that prove our platform can handle enterprise-scale loads—think Fortune 100 companies rolling out passwordless access to hundreds of thousands of employees overnight—without a single hiccup.
- • Mentor a distributed team of QA and SDET professionals, instilling best practices in test design, code reviews, and risk-based testing, while fostering a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility, not a final checkpoint.
- • Champion shift-left testing by integrating contract tests, property-based tests, and chaos engineering experiments into developer workflows, reducing defect escape rates and accelerating release cycles.
- • Build and maintain a comprehensive test data strategy that generates privacy-compliant synthetic identities, enabling repeatable, deterministic tests without exposing real user biometrics or PII.
- • Establish clear quality metrics—MTTR, defect density, test coverage, and customer-reported issues—and present actionable insights to leadership, turning data into decisions that shape product roadmap priorities.
- • Contribute to open-source testing tools and standards bodies, amplifying PrivateID’s reputation as a thought leader in secure, privacy-preserving test automation.
- • Collaborate with customer success teams to reproduce and automate edge-case scenarios reported in the field, ensuring rapid resolution and continuous improvement of the end-user experience.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years designing and implementing test automation frameworks for distributed, cloud-native applications, with deep expertise in at least one modern language (Python, Go, or TypeScript).
- • Proven track record of testing biometric, cryptographic, or other security-sensitive systems, including familiarity with FIDO2, WebAuthn, or similar standards.
- • Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) to spin up ephemeral test environments on demand.
- • Nice-to-have: Contributions to open-source test tooling or published research on security testing methodologies.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote, asynchronous-first culture with quarterly in-person retreats in privacy-friendly locations.
- • Annual $3,000 learning stipend plus dedicated 10% time for open-source contributions and conference speaking.
- • Equity package and performance bonuses tied to company OKRs, not office politics.
- • 20 days PTO plus a 4-week paid sabbatical every four years to recharge and pursue personal projects.

About Private Identity LLC
Private Identity LLC provides privacy-preserving identity verification technology that lets businesses authenticate users without exposing personal data. Its platform uses decentralized, zero-knowledge cryptographic protocols so service providers can confirm attributes such as age or citizenship while keeping underlying documents and biometric templates on the user’s device. The company targets financial services, healthcare, and e-commerce clients seeking GDPR- and CCPA-compliant KYC, AML, and age verification workflows that reduce fraud, cut onboarding costs, and eliminate centralized honeypots of sensitive information.
