- • Finch Legal is revolutionizing the landscape of consumer law by building a modern infrastructure that makes justice accessible to every American household. We are dedicated to automating the administrative burdens associated with legal processes, with a primary focus on personal injury cases. Since our inception in April, we have experienced a remarkable tenfold growth, and we are now empowering top law firms nationwide with our advanced pre-litigation solutions. Our innovative approach combines the expertise of seasoned operators with cutting-edge AI to streamline critical tasks such as client intake, claim initiation, medical record retrieval, police report acquisition, lien management, and demand preparation.
- • As a Case Manager, Claims & Liens at Finch Legal, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-litigation phase of personal injury cases. Your primary responsibility will be to manage cases from the initial intake through the meticulous preparation for settlement. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a proven track record in opening claims, expertly preparing and organizing all necessary coverage documentation, and maintaining consistent, effective communication with insurance carriers. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of insurance claims and ensuring a smooth progression towards resolution.
- • A significant aspect of this position involves managing the entire lien resolution process. This includes proactively placing health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare on notice, diligently following up on lien claims, meticulously tracking and reconciling lien ledgers, and ensuring that all documentation throughout the claim's lifecycle is accurate and compliant. Your ability to manage these intricate financial and legal obligations will be paramount to successful case outcomes and client satisfaction.
- • You will be instrumental in initiating and managing insurance claims across various carrier types, including liability, uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM), and medical payments (MedPay). This involves promptly sending out letters of representation, securing essential claim numbers and adjuster assignments, and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with carriers, including diligent follow-up on acknowledgments.
- • A key responsibility will be the systematic request and tracking of crucial case documents. This includes obtaining policy limits disclosures, medical records, police reports, and any other documentation vital to the case. You will implement and refine systematic follow-up protocols to ensure the timely receipt of these documents, proactively flagging any non-responsive parties for escalation to ensure no delays occur.
- • You will conduct initial liability analyses by thoroughly reviewing police reports and carrier responses. This involves assessing the compensability of claims based on the available coverage limits and preparing comprehensive case packages. These packages will be instrumental for lead paralegals as they move forward to draft settlement demands, ensuring all necessary information is readily available and well-organized.
- • Identifying and managing health insurance liens is a critical function of this role. You will be responsible for sending out the required lien notices to relevant entities, diligently monitoring subrogation communications, and expertly coordinating lien resolution. This proactive approach is essential to prevent any potential settlement delays or compliance issues that could arise from unresolved liens.
- • Beyond day-to-day case management, you will be empowered to analyze workflow inefficiencies within our case setup processes. Your insights will be invaluable in identifying opportunities for automation and implementing process improvements designed to significantly reduce the cycle time from initial intake to a demand-ready status. This continuous improvement mindset is central to Finch Legal's mission of scaling efficiently.
- • This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where processes are continuously evolving, and a high degree of ownership is expected. If you are energized by the prospect of shaping and refining operational procedures while directly contributing to the success of a rapidly growing company, this is the opportunity for you.
- • At Finch Legal, we are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We believe that a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences enriches our work and strengthens our ability to provide exceptional service. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or veteran status. Inclusion is not just a value; it's a practice we actively cultivate.
🎯 Requirements

- • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- • Proficiency in requesting and tracking essential case documents such as medical records, police reports, and policy limits.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage (100% employer-paid).
