- • As a Senior Threat Research Engineer at Material Security, you will contribute directly to the product by improving the capability to detect email-based threats, leveraging analytical skills to identify and track adversaries that evade other email security systems.
- • Your day-to-day involves a mix of exploration, analysis, triage, and building detection systems alongside world-class engineers and security experts, including authoring detection rules, researching attacker campaigns, and identifying signals for message classification.
- • You will work within a remote-first security team at Material Security, collaborating with Security Architects, software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to improve customer email security posture and drive down risk through data-informed decisions.
- • In this role, you can deepen your expertise in threat detection, advance your software and data analysis skills, influence the maturity of internal detection and response programs, and grow your impact across security engineering, product collaboration, and customer risk mitigation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Solid data analysis skills including writing SQL queries and experience writing detections
- • Intermediate software coding skills and ability to parse through large datasets
- • Intimate familiarity with modern adversary behavior, techniques, and data sources to identify threats
- • Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills for working with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
- • Ownership mindset with a focus on building robust, resilient tooling and avoiding technical debt
- • Drive to learn and grow across security subdomains, software development, product management, or customer care
