• • Shape the future of financial technology as ION Group’s founding Senior UI Designer in Italy. You will be the visual authority who defines how millions of users experience trading, risk and post-trade platforms that power the world’s leading banks, asset managers and corporates.
• • Own the pixel-perfect execution of every screen—from early concept sketches to final production assets—ensuring our products feel as sophisticated as the algorithms that sit beneath them. Your craft will set the bar for clarity, elegance and performance across desktop, web and mobile.
• • Translate complex data sets, multi-step workflows and regulatory requirements into intuitive interfaces that reduce cognitive load and accelerate decision-making for traders, analysts and operations teams who operate in milliseconds.
• • Establish and evangelise our visual language: colour palettes that meet WCAG 2.2 AA, typographic scales that scale across 200+ locales, spacing grids that flex from 4K monitors to 13-inch laptops, and micro-interactions that provide instant feedback without distraction.
• • Partner with Brand to codify design guidelines that unify product, marketing and corporate communications. Your documentation will become the single source of truth for every designer, engineer and stakeholder who touches our ecosystem.
• • Collaborate daily with Product Managers to translate business goals into measurable design KPIs—task-completion rates, time-to-insight, error reduction—and iterate rapidly through usability testing, A/B experiments and analytics-driven refinements.
• • Work hand-in-hand with front-end engineers to ensure every gradient, shadow and animation is built exactly as intended. You will spec components in Figma, review Storybook builds, and champion accessibility, performance and responsive behaviour.
• • Contribute to and continuously evolve our nascent design system: tokens, components, patterns and governance processes that allow 30+ product teams to ship consistent, high-quality experiences at speed.
• • Mentor mid-level and junior UI designers, running weekly design critiques, pairing sessions and workshops that raise the collective craft of the team and foster an inclusive, feedback-rich culture.
• • Stay ahead of the curve—experiment with AI-assisted layout tools, variable fonts, motion design trends and emerging accessibility standards—then share insights through lightning talks and guild sessions.
• • Champion a user-centred mindset across the organisation, translating trader jargon into human language and ensuring every design decision is backed by evidence, not opinion.
• • Thrive in a hybrid model: three days in our Milan or Pisa studios for white-boarding and high-fidelity reviews, two days remote for deep-focus work and global collaboration with colleagues in London, New York and Singapore.
