- • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from civil and power utility drawings using Bluebeam and PlanSwift, with expertise in interpreting utility-specific plan sets.
- • Conduct thorough plan reviews and specification analysis to identify missing information, clarifications, and scope questions prior to bid submission.
- • Manage the complete bid lifecycle, from plan receipt through final bid delivery, including coordination of supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- • Serve as the primary estimator contact for national home builders and general contractors, directly engaging to clarify scope, answer technical questions, and support the sales process.
- • Track active bid invitations, manage the estimating pipeline, and coordinate with internal teams on project requirements and timelines.
- • Support post-award workflows including subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, submittals packages, and ongoing coordination with subcontractors and suppliers on scope and scheduling.
- • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all bid documents to maximize bid profitability and client satisfaction.
- • Work within the client’s existing systems and workflows to maintain consistency in estimating practices and documentation standards.
- • Collaborate with ownership to support company growth initiatives and expansion into new utility sectors including water, sewer, and storm drain infrastructure.
- • Maintain clear and professional communication with U.S.-based clients and internal teams, ensuring timely responses and alignment on project expectations.
- • Interpret civil drawings, power utility drawings, specifications, and plan schedules with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
- • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and confirm scope alignment before bid submission.
- • Adapt to evolving project scopes and client requests during the bidding phase while maintaining strict deadlines and quality standards.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements based on field experience.
- • Maintain organized records of all bid-related communications, pricing data, and project documentation for audit and reference purposes.
- • Work remotely on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm EST, aligning with U.S.-based client operating hours.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of estimating experience in underground utilities, civil construction, or closely related trades, with demonstrated experience on large-scale projects ($500K+) for U.S.-based clients.
- • Proficiency with Bluebeam and PlanSwift software; experience with civil and utility drawing interpretation is essential.
- • Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, power utility drawings, specifications, and plan schedules with a high degree of accuracy.
- • End-to-end bid process experience — from takeoff and pricing coordination through formal submission, plus familiarity with post-award workflows (buyouts, RFIs, submittals, scope coordination).
- • Proven experience engaging directly with clients during the estimating and bidding process; comfort with frontline customer contact and sales-oriented interactions.
- • Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal); prior experience working remotely for U.S.-based contractors is strongly preferred.
