- • The Senior Vendor Manager at Serve Robotics plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the company’s remote operations program, which supports the autonomous delivery fleet navigating urban environments. This position directly impacts public safety and service quality by overseeing third-party vendors responsible for monitoring and intervening in robot operations when needed.
- • The role is essential to scaling Serve Robotics’ vision of ubiquitous, safe sidewalk delivery by transforming vendor performance from a novelty into a consistently high-standard operational backbone that enables commercial viability across multiple U.S. cities.
- • Day to day, the Senior Vendor Manager serves as the primary operational point of contact for third-party remote operations vendors, ensuring alignment with performance expectations, operational standards, and contractual requirements through regular check-ins, performance reviews, and issue resolution.
- • They own vendor performance outcomes by monitoring operational KPIs such as incident response times, quality scores, escalation rates, and SLA adherence, driving corrective actions with vendor partners to improve reliability and safety through data-informed feedback loops.
- • They oversee the remote safety incident process, including leading root cause analysis, ensuring documentation quality, coordinating escalations, and tracking resolution to prevent recurrence and improve system resilience.
- • They manage and support the Vendor Support team by providing guidance, performance management, and operational direction, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- • They own recurring performance reporting for remote operations using data tools like ThoughtSpot, translating complex operational data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
- • They analyze operational data including Jira ticket trends to identify patterns in incidents, operator performance, and system issues, enabling proactive improvements to workflows and training.
- • They design and maintain standard operating procedures related to operator performance, safety workflows, and quality assurance, ensuring consistency and compliance across vendor operations.
- • They partner with cross-functional teams in engineering, product, QA, and operations to identify and implement improvements to tools, workflows, and operational processes, ensuring vendor practices evolve with technological advancements.
- • They ensure operational process updates follow established change management practices and maintain accurate documentation, supporting audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- • They collaborate with engineering, product, QA, and operations teams to improve remote operations systems, training programs, and vendor support capabilities, bridging operational needs with technical development.
- • They establish and track key performance indicators for vendor-supported remote operations, including safety metrics, response times, quality scores, and operational uptime, creating a transparent framework for measuring success.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience in operations, vendor management, or service delivery within a data-driven environment.
- • Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendors and driving operational accountability.
- • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Google Sheets, Jira, ThoughtSpot, or similar analytics tools.
- • Experience designing and improving operational processes using data and stakeholder input.
- • Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
- • Ability to travel quarterly to vendor locations.
