  • • The Senior Vice President, Cyber Risk is a senior client-facing and market-facing leader responsible for designing, placing, and executing cyber insurance and technology risk solutions for complex middle-market and large-enterprise clients, serving as a strategic advisor to CISOs, Risk Managers, Legal teams, and Executive Leadership to translate cyber risk into effective risk transfer strategies.
  • • The role drives growth and innovation by leading client and prospect engagements, shaping cyber practice standards, leveraging proprietary AI solutions, and partnering with practice leadership to advance carrier strategy and differentiated client deliverables in a dynamic, collaborative environment at Relation Insurance Services, Inc.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing strategic leadership for complex cyber insurance program placements (primary, excess, integrated technology risk), partnering with executive stakeholders (CISOs, CIOs, Legal, Risk Management, Boards) to evaluate and articulate cyber risk exposures, leading end-to-end renewal and marketing strategy including underwriting submissions, carrier engagement, term negotiation, pricing, and executive-level client presentations.
  • • The SVP cultivates and leverages senior relationships with domestic and international cyber insurers to optimize capacity, structure, and coverage outcomes, maintains deep subject-matter expertise in underwriting appetite, market capacity, pricing dynamics, regulatory developments, and evolving cyber policy language, and serves as a senior escalation point for complex placement, coverage interpretation, and claims-related issues.
  • • Acts as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to producers and account teams, influencing program design and supporting high-value new business and retention efforts, while shaping and advancing cyber practice standards, best practices, and differentiated client deliverables to enhance consistency, quality, and scalability across the organization.
  • • Leads client and prospect engagements including cyber risk assessments, solution positioning, and executive-level discussions, partners with practice leadership to drive growth initiatives and broader market-facing cyber risk solutions, and fully adopts innovative technology—including proprietary AI solutions—into the service process to deliver a best-in-class client experience.
  • • Performs other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned, ensuring adaptability and responsiveness to evolving business needs in a fast-paced, high-stakes cyber risk insurance environment.
  • • Success in this role is defined by a minimum of 8 years’ experience in insurance brokerage, underwriting, or specialty risk advisory with a focus on cyber insurance placements, a Property and Casualty License from the state of domicile (required and maintained), and a four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
  • • The ideal candidate demonstrates proven experience placing complex cyber programs, advising senior client stakeholders, strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • • Must possess strong listening, discernment, prioritization, and negotiation skills based on deep technical cyber expertise, the ability to evaluate decisions under tight time constraints, manage multiple tasks, recognize potential conflicts, and travel as required by business need.
  • • Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or RPLU are preferred, and the role demands a high level of integrity, strategic thinking, and client-centric leadership in a rapidly evolving cyber risk landscape.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum 8 years’ experience in insurance brokerage, underwriting, or specialty risk advisory with a focus on cyber insurance placements.
  • • Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained.
  • • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Economics or other related field preferred.
