- • Serve as a cross-trained Operations Specialist supporting multiple Lab and Production Services roles across Avantor’s customer sites in the Greater Albany, NY region.
- • Step in to perform job functions for Coordinators, Technicians, Team Leads, Glass Washers, Lab Support Technicians, and Site-specific Project Managers during vacations, leaves, or unfilled positions.
- • Travel between multiple Avantor and customer locations within the assigned geographic territory, with up to 5% travel outside the region as needed.
- • Coordinate and lead team efforts to meet customer requirements, including procurement of lab supplies and materials through direct interaction with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.
- • Utilize Avantor and customer systems including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and other customer-specific applications to manage orders, invoices, credit rebills, and inventory.
- • Train new and existing Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings, Standard Operating Procedures, and On-The-Job Training protocols.
- • Collaborate with site leaders to identify and implement process improvements, safety enhancements, and quality metrics.
- • Modify and maintain key performance indicators and quality metrics to ensure operational excellence.
- • Perform tasks related to Standard Work documentation, Scopes of Work, and other operational documentation as directed by management.
- • Provide SAP support including invoice scrubbing, credit rebills, and full customer service resolution.
- • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards including OSHA Right to Know, DOT, IATA, HAZWOPER, and IMDG where applicable.
- • Maintain reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred for travel and logistics responsibilities.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, multi-site environment requiring adaptability, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
- • Support over 500 customers across biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customized laboratory operations.
- • Act as a secondary backup resource capable of responding to emergency staffing needs across facilities.
- • Participate in recognition programs to earn points redeemable for gifts and products based on peer and leadership nominations.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or GED required
- • 3–5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; CDL preferred
- • Experience with SAP, Inventory Manager, or Chemical Manager systems
- • Ability to travel between multiple locations within the Greater Albany, NY area and up to 5% outside the region
- • Forklift certification preferred
