Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • The Shopping & Marketplace Strategist is a senior strategic role responsible for owning the performance and growth of Directive Commerce’s two highest-impact practice areas: Shopping (Google and Bing feed-driven campaigns) and Marketplace (Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, and emerging B2B platforms like Shopify). This role is critical because B2B commerce involves complex dynamics—high-SKU catalogs, tiered pricing, MAP enforcement, and channel conflict—that require specialized expertise beyond standard DTC approaches. The Strategist ensures clients achieve measurable revenue outcomes by aligning channel strategy with business goals.
- • Day to day, the Strategist leads Shopping and Marketplace strategy for mid-market and enterprise B2B manufacturers and distributors, diagnosing channel architecture (1P vs. 3P Amazon, feed health, distributor conflict), building and optimizing Shopping and Performance Max campaigns tailored to B2B buyer behavior, managing Amazon ad campaigns (Sponsored Products, Brands, Display, DSP), enforcing cross-channel exclusion logic to prevent cannibalization, and advising on 1P vs. 3P migrations. They run bi-weekly client meetings, QBRs, and proposal calls, translate performance into P&L impact for C-suite stakeholders, and proactively flag risks like Buy Box loss or feed degradation.
- • Directive Consulting is a leading B2B marketing agency with over a decade of experience serving 420+ B2B brands across Technology, Industrial, and Services verticals. Operating through three divisions—Performance, Communications, and Commerce—the company uses its proprietary DiscoverabilityOS™ methodology to align brand and demand across the customer journey. The Commerce division, where this role sits, focuses on scaling profitable marketplace and shopping strategies for complex B2B clients, emphasizing intelligence sharing and revenue alignment across teams.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in B2B-specific commerce mechanics, master feed optimization platforms like Feedonomics and GoDataFeed, become a trusted advisor to C-suite executives on channel profitability, contribute to Directive’s internal playbook by documenting repeatable frameworks, and influence the evolution of Commerce Architecture and ChannelOS. You’ll achieve measurable impact through NSM attainment, CSAT >4.5, and >90% account retention while building a portfolio of methodology contributions that scale across the practice.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years managing paid media, with 2+ years of direct Shopping/feeds and/or Amazon experience
- • Hands-on fluency in Feedonomics (or GoDataFeed, Productsup, Channable) and Amazon Seller Central / Vendor Central
- • Experience working directly with B2B clients or in high-SKU catalog environments
- • Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort presenting to C-suite buyers
- • Experience setting strategy and executing with director support in a consultative sales motion
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary with annual bonus based on tenure that scales over time
- • Comprehensive health coverage: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision for employee; 50% employer contribution for dependents (US, CAD, MX); includes disability and life insurance
- • Holistic wellness support: access to certified therapists via Spring Health, Headspace membership, Omada physical therapy, Aaptiv virtual workouts, and complimentary One Medical membership
- • Generous time off: unlimited PTO (2-week minimum), paid company holidays, birthday off, year-end recharge (Dec 24–Jan 1), and paid parental leave
- • Financial wellness: traditional and Roth 401(k) with 3% company match
- • Annual company-wide retreat to foster connection and culture
