Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Silicon Design Engineer at Intel Corporation, you will lead critical silicon design efforts for SASIC (System-on-Chip for AI and Security Integrated Circuits), directly contributing to the development of high-performance, power-efficient, and secure silicon products that power next-generation data center, edge, and client computing platforms. Your work ensures Intel maintains technological leadership in semiconductor innovation by delivering IPs, subsystems, and SoCs that meet stringent PPAC (Power, Performance, Area, Cost) and quality targets.
- • You will own end-to-end delivery of complex silicon products, driving excellence in execution, silicon quality, and engineering productivity while collaborating across global teams to solve some of the most challenging problems in modern chip design—from concept to tape-out and beyond.
- • Day to day, you will work closely with customer-facing teams to debug, verify, and validate circuit and physical design elements, ensuring that IPs, subsystems, SoCs, or discrete chips meet functional and performance specifications under real-world conditions.
- • You will conduct and oversee architecture and design reviews to rigorously assess power, performance, area, and cost (PPAC) trade-offs, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps and quality benchmarks before proceeding to implementation.
- • You will drive continuous improvement in silicon development methodologies, design processes, and architectural definition by introducing best practices, automation, and standardized workflows across logic, verification, circuit, and physical design disciplines.
- • You will oversee design verification strategy and execution, including analyzing test results, identifying root causes of failures, tracking issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve design robustness and silicon yield.
- • You will partner with IP, platform, and SoC teams to enable seamless integration, optimize performance across boundaries, and ensure robust design implementation that supports scalability and future product generations.
- • You will establish clear goals, milestones, and accountability frameworks, remove execution barriers, and drive predictable delivery outcomes by applying disciplined project management and performance tracking.
- • You will apply effective performance management, coach and develop engineering talent, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that values technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- • You will contribute to Intel’s mission of shaping the future of computing by working on cutting-edge technologies at advanced process nodes, gaining exposure to industry-leading tools, methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration in a global semiconductor leader.
- • This role offers the opportunity to grow into a technical leader or architect within Intel’s silicon engineering organization, with pathways to influence product strategy, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation in AI-optimized and secure silicon designs.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- • Proven experience in silicon design across one or more domains: logic design, verification, circuit design, or physical design.
- • Experience leading technical teams or projects in semiconductor or silicon product development.
- • Strong understanding of the full silicon development lifecycle, from architecture definition through tape-out and post-silicon validation.
- • Demonstrated ability to drive quality, execution discipline, and cross-functional collaboration.
- • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field (Preferred).
- • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex SoC or IP designs at advanced process nodes (Preferred).
- • Deep knowledge of PPAC optimization, silicon bring-up, debug, and yield considerations (Preferred).
- • Strong data-driven decision-making skills and experience driving process and methodology improvements (Preferred).
- • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills (Preferred).
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation package aligned with industry standards for senior engineering roles at Intel.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans for employees and eligible dependents.
- • Retirement savings plans with company matching contributions to support long-term financial security.
- • Generous paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and personal days, promoting work-life balance.
- • Access to Intel’s global learning and development resources, including technical training, certifications, and leadership programs.
- • Remote work flexibility based in Bucharest, Romania, enabling collaboration with global teams while maintaining local work-life integration.
- • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge AI, security, and high-performance computing silicon projects with real-world impact.
- • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture that values innovation, integrity, and employee growth.
