- • Join Ooma, a dynamic and innovative company at the forefront of communication technology, as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). We are dedicated to empowering people to connect in smarter ways through our cutting-edge cloud-based platform, delivering powerful communication experiences for both businesses and homes. Our solutions enable small business owners to manage their operations and stay connected with customers from anywhere, while larger enterprises benefit from customized unified communications tailored to their unique needs. For home users, we provide the top-rated VoIP phone service and an innovative smart home security solution, all at competitive prices, making advanced technology accessible to everyone.
- • As a key member of our growing international SRE team, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the highest levels of service reliability for our worldwide customer base. This role is ideal for experienced SREs, Systems Administrators, Operations Engineers, DevOps Engineers, or IT professionals who are passionate about tackling complex challenges, working with modern technologies, and building highly available, scalable systems. If you are motivated by mentoring others and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, we encourage you to apply.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to become a subject matter expert in the applications that power Ooma's customer-facing services. You will collaborate closely with Development, Quality Assurance (QA), and fellow SREs to meticulously evaluate, deploy, and debug applications, ensuring their stability and performance.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve enhancing system observability. This includes implementing, refining, and adjusting application monitoring tools and alert thresholds to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact users.
- • You will be instrumental in mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise to elevate their application management practices and foster a culture of shared knowledge and growth.
- • As an escalation point and backup for less experienced team members, you will provide critical guidance and support during alerts and incidents, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- • You will actively contribute to the automation of our infrastructure and deployment processes. This involves writing automation scripts, setting up and optimizing Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines, and rigorously reviewing and evaluating software solutions and best practices to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency.
- • Participation in on-call rotations is a requirement, ensuring 24/7 support for Ooma's critical services and demonstrating our commitment to uninterrupted service delivery.
- • You will be involved in evaluating and implementing new technologies and methodologies to further enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the architecture and operational strategy of Ooma's platform, contributing directly to the company's success and its ability to serve a global audience.
- • You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, leveraging your problem-solving skills to navigate complex technical landscapes and drive continuous improvement in our systems.
- • Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, ensuring that Ooma's services remain robust, reliable, and accessible to all our customers.
- • We foster a collaborative environment where your individual voice is valued, and you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on our products and services.
- • This position requires a proactive approach, a commitment to ownership, and a strong desire to learn and grow within a leading technology company.
