• • As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Cloaked, you will be instrumental in building, maintaining, and scaling the robust and highly available infrastructure that powers our groundbreaking privacy product. This is a critical role where you'll blend software engineering principles with systems administration expertise to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our platform. You will be a guardian of our systems, working proactively to prevent outages, optimize performance, and implement best practices in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• • Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of our infrastructure, from initial design and implementation to ongoing monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with our engineering teams to understand their needs, translate them into scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions, and ensure that our platform can handle rapid growth and evolving user demands.
• • Key aspects of this role include developing and maintaining automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment, configuration management, and operational tasks. You will be deeply involved in setting up and managing our cloud-based infrastructure, likely leveraging cutting-edge technologies to ensure scalability, cost-effectiveness, and security. This includes working with containerization technologies, orchestration platforms, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• • You will play a vital role in establishing and enforcing SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLIs (Service Level Indicators), defining what reliability means for Cloaked and implementing the necessary monitoring and alerting to track our progress. Proactive identification of potential issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities will be a core part of your day-to-day work.
• • When incidents do occur, you will be on the front lines, leading the charge in diagnosing, resolving, and documenting issues. A key part of the SRE philosophy is to learn from every incident, implementing post-mortems and driving changes to prevent recurrence. This requires strong analytical skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and effective communication.
• • You will contribute to building a culture of reliability and operational excellence throughout the engineering organization. This involves sharing knowledge, mentoring junior engineers, and advocating for SRE best practices in all aspects of our development and operations.
• • Furthermore, you will be involved in capacity planning, ensuring that our infrastructure can scale efficiently to meet anticipated user growth and traffic spikes. This includes performance tuning, resource optimization, and working with cloud providers to manage costs effectively.
