Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own and elevate the reliability, scalability, and performance of New Era Technology’s global DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) platform that underpins connectivity for 4,500+ employees and thousands of client endpoints across North America and EMEA.
- • Design, build, and maintain self-healing automation for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD) to reduce manual toil and accelerate change velocity.
- • Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot at scale with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar observability stacks; define and track SLOs/SLIs for critical DDI services and drive post-incident reviews that turn lessons learned into permanent fixes.
- • Partner with network engineering, security, and application teams to integrate DDI data into broader observability and security workflows—e.g., feeding IPAM data into NAC, firewall automation, and vulnerability scanners.
- • Lead capacity-planning exercises and performance-tuning initiatives for BIND, Infoblox, BlueCat, or comparable enterprise-grade DDI appliances and cloud-native DNS solutions (Route 53, Azure DNS, Google Cloud DNS).
- • Implement least-privilege access controls, DNSSEC, DHCP snooping, and IPAM policy enforcement to harden the DDI stack against internal and external threats while ensuring compliance with SOX, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
- • Provide Tier-3 on-call support on a rotating basis (one week in four) to resolve high-severity incidents within agreed SLAs; author and maintain detailed runbooks and chaos-engineering playbooks to minimize MTTR.
- • Drive continuous improvement through blameless postmortems, cost-optimization reviews, and quarterly OKRs that align DDI reliability goals with broader business objectives.
- • Mentor junior SREs and network engineers through pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and code reviews, fostering a culture of psychological safety and relentless learning.
- • Contribute to the open-source community by upstreaming bug fixes, writing technical blogs, and speaking at meetups or conferences to amplify New Era’s thought-leadership in network reliability engineering.
- • Maintain comprehensive documentation in Confluence and version-controlled repositories, ensuring every runbook, architecture diagram, and change record is discoverable and up to date.
- • Participate in disaster-recovery drills and regional fail-over tests to validate RPO/RTO targets and refine automation for seamless traffic cut-over during planned or unplanned events.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Network Engineering roles with deep expertise in DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies (Infoblox, BlueCat, BIND, Kea, or equivalent).
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, or Bash) and demonstrable experience building Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.
- • Strong grasp of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network security fundamentals; DNSSEC, DHCP snooping, and IPAM policy design are second nature.
- • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK) and defining SLOs/SLIs for critical infrastructure services.
- • Nice-to-have: Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container-orchestration experience (Kubernetes), and contributions to open-source networking projects.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid flexibility—work three days onsite at either Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY and two days from anywhere, with full remote gear provided.
- • Continuous learning culture: annual certification reimbursement, paid attendance at global conferences, and access to internal “Tech Tuesday” workshops led by industry experts.
- • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and generous PTO that starts at 20 days plus 11 company holidays.
- • A People-First environment that prioritizes career growth through mentorship, internal mobility, and quarterly performance check-ins aligned to personalized development plans.
