Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analyses for assigned business unit projects at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard modernization effort.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA/EPA standards, and Ameresco-specific requirements across construction activities involving the new 19-MW CHP plant, 3MW battery storage system, and microgrid control system.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and training for all personnel to maintain occupational health and prevent workplace hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, develop corrective action plans, and foster a positive safety culture through quarterly safety meetings and reporting.
  • Maintain safety certifications, review subcontractor qualifications, and coordinate with project supervision to resolve safety issues.

🎯 Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of construction industry safety experience on similar projects
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate safety effectively within project teams
