Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As an Investigation Adjuster Consultant within Allstate's Special Investigation Unit (SIU), you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company and its policyholders by meticulously investigating and analyzing claims exhibiting potential fraudulent activity.
  • This remote position requires a keen eye for detail and a robust understanding of insurance claims processes, focusing on moderately complex, single-discipline coverage and claims referred to the SIU.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive investigations, delving into the intricacies of each case to determine if fraud can be substantiated.
  • This involves performing in-depth background searches, conducting recorded statements with claimants and witnesses, and strategically reviewing social media activity for relevant information.
  • You will be instrumental in evaluating the evidence gathered, forming well-reasoned conclusions about potential fraud, and providing crucial support for litigation efforts when necessary.
  • A significant aspect of the role involves the diligent documentation of claims. This includes summarizing complex documents, maintaining precise and up-to-date claim files, and accurately recording all notes, evaluations, and decisions made throughout the investigation process.
  • You will be expected to address moderately complex customer concerns and inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring that all interactions are handled with care and adherence to company policies.
  • The core of your work will revolve around fraud assessment. You will critically review investigation findings, synthesize information from various sources, and make informed determinations on whether a fraud denial is warranted based on the evidence.
  • Beyond desk-based analysis, your investigative duties will extend to conducting thorough background checks and, where applicable, performing scene inspections to gather firsthand information.
  • You will leverage analytical tools and methodologies to identify and validate fraud indicators, employing a data-driven approach to your investigations.
  • Effective vendor management is also a key component of this role. You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with external vendors, monitoring their performance, and ensuring they meet the required standards for investigative support.
  • Based on your comprehensive investigations, you will make informed claim decisions. This includes pursuing restitution when fraud is substantiated, thereby protecting Allstate's assets and upholding the integrity of the insurance process.
  • Accurate and timely system updates are crucial. You will enter claim data into SIU systems and diligently update files with the outcomes of your investigations, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • When fraud cannot be substantiated or the evidence is deemed insufficient, you will expertly return the file to the market claims office for their continued handling and settlement, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading insurance organization, applying your investigative acumen to protect against financial losses and maintain the trust of policyholders.
  • You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to upholding ethical standards and ensuring the fair and accurate resolution of insurance claims.
  • The ability to work effectively across all U.S. time zones is essential for this remote position, facilitating collaboration and timely response.
  • Developing and maintaining strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills will be vital in managing sensitive investigations and stakeholder interactions.
  • You will be challenged to manage a high-volume workload while simultaneously handling complex and nuanced claims, demonstrating exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience in conducting recorded interviews and obtaining witness statements will be a significant asset in gathering critical information.
  • Your strong analytical and critical thinking skills will be paramount in evaluating complex information, identifying patterns, and drawing sound conclusions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively interact with internal teams, external vendors, and potentially claimants.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment and adeptly managing multiple priorities will be key to success in this dynamic role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Law, or a related field is considered a plus, providing a strong foundational understanding of investigative principles.
  • While appropriate licensing is not initially required, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain all necessary adjuster licenses upon hire, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and regulatory compliance.
  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities, allowing you to focus entirely on your investigative and analytical duties.
