  • • Are you a driven US-based military professional seeking an unparalleled opportunity to transition your extensive technical expertise into the dynamic world of cybersecurity? SimSpace Corporation, a leader in cyber range technology and training, is thrilled to offer a unique 4-6 month SkillBridge internship for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and operating sophisticated cyber ranges. This remote position allows you to leverage your existing skills and learn cutting-edge technologies within a human-centered culture that prioritizes continuous learning, curiosity, and professional growth.
  • • As a Cyber Range Engineer Intern, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and maintaining complex computer networks that serve as realistic environments for cybersecurity testing and training. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure these networks are not only functional but also meticulously configured to meet dynamic customer or industry-specific goals. This involves a deep dive into the configuration of hosts, servers, and essential services, ensuring they operate seamlessly within the simulated environment.
  • • A critical aspect of this role involves the strategic setup and configuration of security tools. You will be instrumental in ensuring that security solutions are properly deployed and tuned to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats within the range. This hands-on experience will provide invaluable insight into the practical application of various cybersecurity technologies.
  • • Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that our traffic generators, specifically the SimSpace User Emulation platform, are accurately modeling user behaviors. This requires a nuanced understanding of how real users interact with networks and systems, enabling the creation of authentic training scenarios. Similarly, you will configure and manage attack generators, utilizing the SimSpace Automated Attack Platform to execute a wide array of available attack scenarios. This will provide you with direct experience in simulating adversarial tactics and techniques.
  • • Troubleshooting is a core component of this internship. You will be expected to diagnose and resolve issues across various cyber range components, encompassing networking, system administration, and SimSpace's proprietary technologies. This will involve employing a diverse set of technical methods and analytical approaches to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • • You will actively participate in discussions with customers, collaborating to identify their specific cyber range requirements. This involves translating their objectives and use cases into actionable technical designs and configurations, fostering a deep understanding of client needs and how SimSpace solutions can meet them.
  • • This role thrives in an open communication and collaboration environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and customer success, to ensure the successful delivery of cyber range solutions. Your ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with colleagues across different departments and time zones will be key to your success.
  • • We value individuals who can perform tasks both independently and as part of a team. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously on assigned tasks, collaborate with other team members, and potentially take the lead and accountability for specific projects. This blend of individual contribution and teamwork will foster comprehensive skill development.
  • • During highly visible customer events, you will be expected to perform required tasks with speed and efficiency. This fast-paced environment demands a high level of focus and the ability to deliver under pressure, providing a realistic simulation of operational demands.
  • • Excellent time management skills are essential for this role. You will need to effectively prioritize tasks and manage your workload to ensure timely delivery of all project milestones and commitments. This internship is designed to provide you with a robust learning experience, equipping you with practical skills and knowledge that are highly sought after in the cybersecurity industry. By joining SimSpace, you are not just taking on an internship; you are embarking on a path to shape your future career in a field that is critical to global security.
