- • Shape and execute the go-to-market strategy for Iron Mountain’s State, Local, and Education (SLED) business, identifying opportunities to expand market presence and deepen customer engagement across public sector entities.
- • Build, strengthen, and maintain trusted executive-level relationships with senior government leaders, education institution stakeholders, consultants, and cooperative purchasing organizations to drive strategic partnerships.
- • Partner closely with sales leadership to advance high-value SLED opportunities from early engagement through contract award, contributing to pipeline growth and competitive wins.
- • Monitor legislative trends, funding initiatives, and procurement developments to identify actionable opportunities aligned with Iron Mountain’s records management, digital transformation, data center, and asset lifecycle solutions.
- • Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to refine messaging, support proposal development, and position Iron Mountain as a thought leader in public sector information management.
- • Represent Iron Mountain as a visible industry leader at public sector events, conferences, and strategic forums to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- • Drive strategic information management transformation initiatives that improve citizen services, operational efficiency, and student outcomes for state agencies, local governments, and public education organizations.
- • Leverage deep understanding of public sector budgeting cycles, funding mechanisms, and procurement processes to align Iron Mountain’s offerings with client needs and regulatory requirements.
- • Act as a strategic advisor to public sector clients on modernizing how information is managed, protected, and accessed through sustainable, secure, and innovative solutions.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Iron Mountain’s public sector value proposition by integrating market intelligence, client feedback, and competitive insights into strategic planning.
- • Support cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across sales, marketing, operations, and customer success in delivering SLED-focused solutions.
- • Identify and prioritize high-impact market segments within the SLED space to guide resource allocation and strategic focus.
- • Maintain awareness of evolving data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks impacting public sector information management.
- • Champion Iron Mountain’s commitment to sustainability and socially responsible practices in all public sector engagements.
- • Ensure alignment between client objectives and Iron Mountain’s portfolio of services, including records management, digital transformation, data center services, and fine art storage and logistics.
🎯 Requirements
- • 15+ years of experience in public sector strategy, government relations, business development, or enterprise sales within the State, Local, and Education (SLED) market
- • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement, legislation, budgeting cycles, and funding mechanisms
- • Proven success building executive-level relationships with government agencies, education institutions, consultants, and strategic partners
- • Experience working with or selling solutions related to digital transformation or solution-driven services
- • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills, with experience supporting industry events and thought leadership initiatives
- • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred
