Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Implement smart contracts optimized for the high-throughput, parallel-execution EVM client developed by Category Labs, leveraging Monad’s unique performance capabilities.
- • Collaborate directly with external application and infrastructure teams to identify gaps in the developer ecosystem and design solutions that unlock new use cases on Monad.
- • Work closely with the core engineering team to translate infrastructure innovations into practical, deployable smart contract primitives that enhance developer experience and application scalability.
- • Design and build production-grade smart contracts from scratch, ensuring security, efficiency, and maintainability under high transaction volumes.
- • Conduct rigorous code reviews and security audits of smart contracts, applying deep knowledge of Solidity vulnerabilities and application-layer exploits.
- • Use industry-standard tools such as Foundry and Hardhat to develop, test, and deploy smart contracts in a CI/CD environment.
- • Contribute to open-source projects on GitHub by publishing smart contract code and documentation that serve the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
- • Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to align smart contract development with core protocol advancements.
- • Proactively identify performance bottlenecks in existing smart contracts and propose optimizations that take advantage of Monad’s parallel execution model.
- • Document smart contract interfaces, usage patterns, and best practices to support external developers adopting Monad’s platform.
- • Engage with the community through forums, GitHub issues, and developer events to gather feedback and refine smart contract offerings.
- • Maintain a rigorous development mindset, prioritizing correctness, scalability, and long-term maintainability over quick fixes.
- • Embrace AI-assisted development tools such as coding agents, applying critical judgment to review and own all generated code before deployment.
- • Contribute to the culture of collaboration, low ego, and high-quality output by mentoring peers, providing constructive feedback, and advocating for engineering excellence.
- • Help shape the future of Category Labs’ engineering culture as an early team member in a fast-growing, well-capitalized startup.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 4 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years of experience writing smart contracts in Solidity
- • Prior experience in blockchain engineering at a Layer-1, Layer-2, or Infrastructure project (e.g., Oracle, Bridge, Indexer, RPC Provider, Wallet)
- • Expertise with Solidity development tools such as Foundry and Hardhat, and deep understanding of application-layer security vulnerabilities
- • Backend engineering experience in low-level languages such as C, C++, or Rust
- • Demonstrated ability to have built something significant from scratch with real users
- • Strong communication skills and willingness to participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation
🏖️ Benefits
- • Private health insurance options
- • Flexible paid time off
- • Monthly wellness reimbursement
- • Paid parental leave
- • For US employees: 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance with 75% coverage for dependents, HSA + FSA options, 401(k) with company match, and lunch/dinner stipend (in-office NYC)
- • Competitive salary range of $180,000 – $250,000 plus equity and token incentives
