📋 Description

• The SOC Analyst I role at Apollo Information Systems is critical to protecting client digital assets by monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats in real time. As part of a growing cybersecurity services company, this role supports Apollo’s mission to deliver unified, outcome-driven security programs through its SOC operations.
• Day to day, the SOC Analyst I monitors security events and alerts using SIEM tools, analyzes and triages alerts for severity and impact, performs initial incident response, documents incidents, assists in maintaining security procedures, contributes to metrics and reporting, collaborates with team members, partners with SOC Analyst IIs on SIEM rule refinement, and stays current on emerging threats and trends.
• Apollo Information Systems is a Series A-backed cybersecurity services provider specializing in managed security, compliance, incident response, and offensive security for state and local government, education, and mid-market enterprises. • In this role, the analyst will develop hands-on SOC expertise, gain proficiency with SIEM platforms and security tools, learn to apply frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, contribute to detection engineering through rule development, improve SOC procedures, and build a foundation for advancement to SOC Analyst II or other cybersecurity specializations.

🎯 Requirements

• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles
• Familiarity with common security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
• Ability to work in shifts, including swings, nights, weekends, and holidays
