- • Senior Software Engineer role in WEX Corporate Payments Engineering organization focused on developing, driving, and executing implementation for the EnCompass platform applications, which provide customer-facing user experience and technical integrations for Corporate Payments customers including UIs, APIs, webhooks, and data streams.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include helping develop, drive, and execute a long-term vision and strategy for Corporate Payments cross-cutting and core services; collaboratively defining and implementing a comprehensive architectural roadmap for the EnCompass platform aligned with business objectives and industry best practices; fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning within engineering teams; continuously challenging the status quo to reduce time-to-market using efficient engineering methods; and collaborating with other Corporate Payments engineering teams to reuse development practices and components to reduce duplication.
- • The team is part of WEX Inc.'s Corporate Payments Engineering organization, working on the EnCompass platform that serves as the customer-facing interface and technical integration layer for Corporate Payments solutions.
- • In this role, the person can learn and achieve expertise in cloud-native development on AWS or Azure, deepen understanding of security and compliance in data environments, lead architectural decisions for scalable payment systems, mentor team members in engineering excellence, and drive innovation in fintech product development while working with geographically distributed teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience in software engineering
- • Expertise in rapid development and deployment of internal and external services using cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
- • Experience writing high-quality automation, including well-formed unit, component, and integration tests and an in-depth understanding of the test pyramid
- • Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in cloud and data environments
- • Excellent team-building and dynamic decision-making skills
- • Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
