Software Development & Test Engineer, BAU Patching MV/ML

📋 Description

• • Provide continuous maintenance and troubleshooting support for CHEP’s globally deployed Machine Vision (MV) and Machine Learning (ML) Inspection Applications to ensure stable, reliable, and secure operational performance.
• • Execute manual and automated testing, simulation, and validation activities for existing MV/ML applications to verify system stability, consistency, and predictability under operational conditions.
• • Implement and maintain testing and simulation procedures to assess the impact of cybersecurity patches, security tools, and routine system updates on MV/ML inspection systems.
• • Develop and modify software applications using C++ and Python to ensure compliance with CHEP IT Security standards and operational requirements.
• • Design, build, and support automation tools that reduce manual effort, improve testing efficiency, and enhance system validation processes for industrial inspection systems.
• • Create and maintain formal documentation including test procedures, simulation methodologies, automated tool specifications, deployment processes, system performance reports, and data collection protocols.
• • Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data from service centers and field environments to support continuous improvement initiatives and system performance reporting.
• • Collaborate with Plant Infrastructure, IT Security, Global Sort & Inspection Development, Machine Learning, and Plant of the Future teams to coordinate cybersecurity patch deployment and application updates.
• • Support integration of MV/ML inspection systems into new development projects by validating compatibility, performance, and security compliance.
• • Deploy and sustain defined best practices and lessons learned across regional operations to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• • Manage multiple priorities autonomously while ensuring timely delivery of software modifications, testing outcomes, and documentation deliverables.
• • Work within a hybrid remote model, providing field-based support as needed across Spain while maintaining alignment with global technical teams.
• • Ensure all software modifications and patch implementations adhere to established application lifecycle management and cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
• • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align testing strategies with regional operational targets and global sustainability goals.
• • Maintain high standards of technical documentation and test artefacts to support audit readiness and knowledge transfer across teams.
