- • Build and maintain enterprise-grade HRIS integrations using SCIM 2.0, REST APIs, and webhooks for platforms like BambooHR, Workday, and Merge.dev, ensuring seamless user provisioning and deprovisioning.
- • Own the full lifecycle of identity and access management features—from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and incident response—with direct impact on customer onboarding and daily operations.
- • Design and implement resilient background job processing systems that handle data synchronization across inconsistent third-party schemas, managing failures, retries, and state transitions reliably.
- • Normalize and map heterogeneous user data from external HR systems into Perk’s unified schema, writing migration plans that preserve data integrity without disrupting production workflows.
- • Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure system reliability and confidence beyond code coverage metrics.
- • Implement structured logging, error handling, and alerting mechanisms to proactively detect and surface sync failures before they impact customers.
- • Collaborate with the Identity Core squad and Customer Success team to understand integration pain points and translate customer feedback into technical requirements.
- • Engage directly with enterprise customers to gather insights on integration behavior, edge cases, and usability, ensuring solutions meet real-world enterprise needs.
- • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions, giving and receiving constructive feedback to elevate team standards and personal growth.
- • Leverage AI-augmented workflows in daily development, including AI-assisted feature specification, code generation, and automated PR reviews, treating AI as an active coding collaborator.
- • Operate with full ownership of systems: monitor performance, respond to incidents, and iterate on features based on observability data and customer impact.
- • Work within a cross-functional squad focused on Identity Experience (Acquisition), contributing to roadmap planning and prioritization alongside product and design.
- • Ensure all code and systems are designed for fault tolerance, scalability, and maintainability in a high-availability SaaS environment serving 10,000+ global customers.
- • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing to improve team-wide understanding of integration patterns and failure modes.
- • Maintain compliance with enterprise security and data privacy standards when handling sensitive user identity and HR data.
- • Work in-person three days per week at the Barcelona office, with occasional collaboration across global teams in London and Boston.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems
- • Proven experience building and maintaining third-party integrations (REST APIs, webhooks, data sync pipelines)
- • Experience normalizing and mapping data across inconsistent third-party schemas
- • Operational awareness: writing code with structured logging, error handling, and alerting
- • Strong testing discipline: writing meaningful unit, integration, and contract tests
- • Collaborative working style with clear communication and feedback skills
