📋 Description

• Software Engineer role focused on building AI-powered knowledge SaaS platform features from prototype to production, shaping the narrative around document understanding.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and shipping customer-facing features, building responsive UIs with JavaScript/TypeScript and React-based frameworks, integrating LLM workflows (prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents) into front-end experiences, implementing back-end services in Python or Node.js, containerizing with Docker, deploying via cloud-native platforms (Terraform, Google Cloud Run, Kubernetes), collaborating with product and design teams, gathering user feedback, writing design docs, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
• LlamaIndex, Inc. is an AI-driven company advancing document understanding technologies, offering a hybrid work model with telecommuting permitted, based in San Francisco.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related field
• Five (5) years of software engineering experience
• One (1) year of working with LLMs in front-end engineering context
• Production web application development using JavaScript/TypeScript and React-based framework
• Experience building back-end services or APIs with Python or Node.js
• Experience designing and delivering user-facing applications integrating LLMs or AI agents via prompt engineering or RAG
• Participation in agile development cycles, translating user feedback into features, and writing technical design documentation
