- • As a Software Engineer II on the Critical Email Products (CEP) team at Abnormal Security, you will build and maintain backend services that power enterprise-grade email security features, directly enabling customers to replace legacy email gateways with Abnormal’s AI-native platform.
- • Day to day, you will design and evolve event-driven pipelines using Kafka and Airflow, work across multi-tenant, multi-cloud environments (M365, Google Workspace, FedRAMP), leverage AI-augmented development tools like Cursor and Copilot, and collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to ship features that move customers from legacy SEGs to Abnormal.
- • You will join the Message Security Products (MSP) organisation within Abnormal Security, a cybersecurity company redefining email threat detection with an AI-native platform that protects enterprises from advanced email attacks, account compromise, and human-targeted threats at scale.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in scalable backend systems, event-driven architectures, and AI-assisted development, while contributing to service reliability, observability, and operational excellence — positioning you for growth into senior engineering or technical leadership roles within a high-impact, fast-moving security team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of professional experience in software development
- • Backend development experience with Python or Golang
- • Experience building scalable, enterprise-grade applications
- • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- • Strong fundamentals in computer science, data structures, and performance optimization
- • Experience with AI development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude (Nice to Have)
- • Experience with event-driven systems: Kafka, SQS, or similar message queue / stream processing patterns (Nice to Have)
- • Familiarity with email delivery pipelines, email authentication standards (DMARC, DKIM, SPF), or email security products (Nice to Have)
