Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Design and build enterprise-grade AI governance components including AI Gateway (a centralized LLM gateway for audit trails, token tracking, cost control, and authentication) and Agent Firewall (a network policy layer enforcing default-deny rules for developer agents)
- • Work across the full stack using Go for backend services and React/TypeScript for frontend interfaces to deliver scalable, secure developer tooling solutions
- • Integrate with LLM provider APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic to enable secure, governed access for autonomous coding agents
- • Harden security boundaries and implement policy-driven network controls to restrict agent access to domains and methods within isolated workspaces
- • Contribute to and champion Coder’s open-source ecosystem by improving integrations with VS Code, JetBrains, and other developer tools
- • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to execute key product integrations with external partners like JetBrains
- • Document system designs, implementations, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and team alignment
- • Partner with Customer Success teams to support enterprise users, understand real-world governance needs, and translate them into product features
- • Rapidly prototype and iterate on features in a reactive, adaptive team environment focused on delivering seamless developer experiences
- • Build and maintain distributed systems using Go, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, and gRPC to support self-hosted, enterprise-grade AI development environments
- • Promote best practices in software engineering, security, and observability across internal teams and external open-source contributors
- • Utilize Prometheus and Grafana for system observability and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployments
- • Engage with the broader developer tools community to stay informed on emerging trends and incorporate insights into product evolution
- • Support Coder’s mission to make agentic AI a safe, trusted, and integral part of the software development lifecycle through secure, governed, and standardized environments
- • Maintain isolated, policy-driven development environments that reduce data risks, cut cloud costs, and improve productivity for enterprise teams
- • Ensure compliance and auditability by implementing centralized authentication and detailed usage tracking for all AI agent interactions
- • Work in a fully remote environment with global collaboration, using Slack, Discord, and Notion for communication and documentation
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of full-stack experience writing code in a professional setting
- • 1+ year(s) of professional experience writing Go (ideally in current or most recent position)
- • Proficiency in building distributed systems in Go
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills with tenacity to drive solutions to completion
- • Self-motivated with a creative and analytical mindset
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies shaping the future of autonomous coding
- • Contribute to and influence Coder’s open-source ecosystem
- • Transparent, consistent, and enjoyable interview process designed to respect candidate time
- • Use of AI tools during interviews for note-taking (Granola) and application screening (Ashby), with human-only hiring decisions
- • Compliance with data protection, AI governance, and labor laws; data not used to train AI models
- • Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion
