- • Train large language models (LLMs) to generate production-grade code across multiple programming languages by comparing, ranking, and justifying the quality of competing code snippets
- • Repair and refactor AI-generated code to ensure correctness, efficiency, readability, and adherence to industry standards and style guidelines
- • Inject structured feedback—including ratings, manual edits, and test results—into the reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) pipeline to guide model improvement
- • Evaluate code proposals based on logic correctness, performance optimization, security vulnerabilities, and maintainability, providing clear written explanations for each assessment
- • Ensure the RLHF loop operates smoothly by consistently delivering high-quality, actionable human feedback that translates into effective reward signals for the model
- • Work independently in an asynchronous environment with minimal oversight, managing your own time and deliverables across fluctuating project demands
- • Consume and interpret technical documentation and programming language specifications to accurately evaluate code compliance and quality
- • Communicate precisely and persuasively in writing, articulating why one coding approach is superior to another based on engineering principles and real-world applicability
- • Maintain rigorous attention to detail when identifying subtle bugs, edge cases, and anti-patterns in AI-generated code output
- • Collaborate remotely with a distributed team of engineers to refine model behavior through iterative feedback cycles
- • Adapt to varying weekly workloads, with assignments ranging from 15 to 40+ hours per week depending on project needs and availability
- • Verify your identity and legal eligibility to work as an independent contractor in your country of residence as part of onboarding
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in Java
- • Strong code-review instincts capable of identifying logic errors, performance bottlenecks, and security issues
- • Extreme attention to detail and excellent written communication skills for articulating technical justifications
- • Comfortable reading technical documentation and language specs
- • Ability to work autonomously in an asynchronous, low-oversight remote environment
- • Valid documentation to work as an independent contractor in an accepted country
