- • As a Software Engineer on the Booking team at Waymo, you will design, build, and maintain highly scalable core services that serve as the front door to Waymo’s autonomous ride-hailing marketplace, directly enabling users to hail and control Waymo’s autonomous vehicles.
- • Your day-to-day work will involve architecting APIs and systems for internal and external partners, ensuring high reliability, low latency, and fault tolerance for critical user-facing infrastructure, and collaborating closely with iOS/Android engineers, product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to bring innovative ride-hailing features to market.
- • You will join a small, high-impact team at Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company spun out of the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, which has powered over ten million rider-only trips and driven over 100 million miles on public roads with its Waymo Driver technology.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to solve complex user-facing challenges in autonomous transportation, contribute to cutting-edge mobility technology, and grow your expertise in large-scale distributed systems while helping shape the future of transportation access and safety.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- • 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages
- • Experience in building backend distributed systems
