- • As a founding Software Engineer for Watershed’s new Mexico City office, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the engineering culture, technical standards, and team dynamics for a growing global organization. Your contributions will directly impact the development of Watershed’s Supply Chain product module, a critical component of its enterprise sustainability platform used by Fortune 500 companies to manage ESG data, meet regulatory requirements like CSRD, and drive real-world decarbonization efforts.
- • You will be a core member of a co-located engineering team of 4-8 engineers responsible for owning and evolving the Supply Chain product module, collaborating closely with Engineering Management, Technical Leadership, Product, and Design to shape both the technical architecture and product vision while ensuring alignment with Watershed’s mission of enabling corporate climate action.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing performant, well-tested, and maintainable code across Watershed’s technical stack, primarily using JavaScript/TypeScript and related object-oriented languages, with a strong emphasis on backend systems that support data-intensive enterprise applications.
- • You will actively foster a culture of technical excellence by advocating for best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and efficient execution, while mentoring peers and contributing to team knowledge sharing as the Mexico City office scales.
- • You will engage in cross-functional collaboration with distributed teams across San Francisco, New York, London, and other global offices, adapting to multi-timezone workflows and contributing to a unified engineering standard despite geographic dispersion.
- • You will gain hands-on experience with modern enterprise-grade technologies including GCP, Postgres, Temporal, and DuckDB, while contributing to continuous deployment pipelines and data-centric application development — skills that are highly transferable and in demand across the tech industry.

🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional experience building software products using JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar object-oriented programming language
- • Strong backend development skills with experience designing and scaling server-side systems for enterprise applications
- • Proven experience working in a multinational, distributed engineering organization, including comfort with asynchronous communication and cross-timezone collaboration
- • Familiarity with data-centric applications and at least one of the following: Python, GCP, Postgres, Temporal, or DuckDB (preferred but not required)
