📋 Description

• • As a Software Engineer on the ChatGPT Infrastructure team, you will design and build foundational systems that enable rapid, reliable iteration across OpenAI’s most visible product, directly impacting how teams ship features at scale.
• • Day to day, you will build and evolve infrastructure platforms used by many engineers, translate real-world constraints into clean abstractions with safe defaults, drive reliability and performance improvements through principled design and measurement, partner with product and engineering teams to identify systemic pain points, and own outcomes from design through rollout and operational maturity.
• • The ChatGPT Infrastructure team builds shared platforms, data paths, rollout mechanisms, and reliability guardrails that support high-concurrency, unpredictable traffic, and frequent change—enabling fast iteration without compromising performance or reliability for one of the world’s most widely used AI systems.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in large-scale distributed systems, API and contract design, reliability engineering, and developer productivity tooling, while creating force-multiplier impact by shaping how hundreds of engineers build and ship software safely and efficiently.
