📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer on Poshmark’s Cloud Platform team, you will play a critical role in scaling and maintaining the infrastructure that powers one of the largest fashion marketplaces in the U.S., directly enabling millions of users to buy, sell, and connect through style every day.
• Your work will ensure the reliability, performance, and innovation of Poshmark’s cloud-based systems, supporting the company’s mission to keep fashion in circulation while empowering entrepreneurs and fostering a vibrant community of 165+ million members.
• Build applications and services on top of a distributed cloud architecture using NoSQL databases (like MongoDB), message queuing systems (such as RabbitMQ), and search infrastructure (including ElasticSearch) to support high-traffic, low-latency marketplace operations.
• Design and implement new product features for the Poshmark marketplace using an iterative, data-driven approach, collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate user needs into scalable, maintainable code.
• Monitor, analyze, tune, and enhance core platform components—including backend services, data pipelines, and caching layers—to improve system efficiency, reduce latency, and ensure stability under peak loads.
• Partner closely with product, customer support, and reliability engineers to diagnose issues, prioritize fixes, and deliver solutions that directly impact user experience and business outcomes.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and blameless postmortems to continuously improve engineering practices and system resilience across the Cloud Platform team.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence by advocating for best practices in testing, observability, and deployment automation, helping to elevate the overall quality of Poshmark’s software delivery.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 1+ years of software engineering experience through internships, projects, or professional work
• Proficiency in one or more of: Ruby, JRuby, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, or Linux
• Familiarity with Amazon AWS or other cloud computing platforms (preferred)
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• User-focused mindset with a passion for building high-quality, reliable software
