- • Join Found as a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial tools for the rapidly growing self-employed workforce. Our mission is to build a comprehensive business banking solution that automates critical financial tasks like tax calculation and expense tracking, allowing small business owners to focus on their passions rather than administrative burdens.
- • As a key member of our full-stack Data team, you will collaborate with highly skilled data scientists, data engineers, and machine learning engineers. This team is at the forefront of innovation, responsible for everything from researching, training, and deploying real-time fraud detection ML models to leveraging data insights to guide product development and strategic direction. You will be instrumental in scaling our data infrastructure, optimizing data pipelines, establishing robust data governance, and empowering stakeholders across the organization to make data-driven decisions.
- • You will be directly involved in building and scaling our Machine Learning and data platforms, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and accessible. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve millions of self-employed Americans by providing them with the financial security they deserve.
- • Recent accomplishments of the Data team highlight the impact of this role: the deployment of a new feature store that reduced ML model training and deployment time by 50%, optimization of batch and streaming jobs to decrease reporting latencies from days to hours, the successful training and deployment of models for real-time financial transaction monitoring, and the establishment of clear data governance with defined ownership and SLAs for data warehouse ETLs and assets.
- • In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- • Designing, building, and operating large-scale data infrastructure systems across multiple environments to efficiently store, aggregate, and process vast amounts of data.
- • Developing a data platform-as-a-service for internal customers, with a strong emphasis on ensuring data integrity, implementing sanity checks, robust tagging, and discoverability.
- • Acting as a crucial bridge between engineering and analytics teams, contributing to the strategic roadmap for the company's data infrastructure.
- • Implementing and maintaining various ETL infrastructures to support the company's topline metrics, reporting needs, and core product functionalities.
- • Establishing and enforcing data standards and best practices to ensure the data warehouse is maintained at the highest level of quality and reliability.
- • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into scalable infrastructure solutions.
- • Proactively identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and areas for optimization within the data pipelines and infrastructure.
- • Contributing to the architectural design of our data ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- • Mentoring junior engineers and sharing best practices in data engineering and infrastructure management.
- • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and recommending their adoption where appropriate.
- • Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and security best practices.
- • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for data infrastructure and pipelines.
- • Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
- • Troubleshooting and resolving complex data-related issues across various systems.
- • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our data platform's capabilities and user experience.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in data infrastructure, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
- • Proven experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL), dbt, and Airflow.
- • Experience working with cloud-native big data infrastructure on public clouds (GCP experience with BigQuery and Vertex is a plus).
- • Ability to design effective data models for data warehouse storage, suitable for analytics and machine learning model training.
