đ Description
- ⢠As a Software Engineer - Developer Experience at Paddle, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how thousands of developers worldwide interact with and integrate Paddleâs billing platform, directly impacting the reliability, usability, and scalability of core services that power global software commerce.
- ⢠You will own and evolve critical backend systems including webhooks, email notifications, authentication, and the app marketplace, ensuring high availability and performance under heavy load while driving improvements in API consistency and developer tooling.
- ⢠The Developer Experience (DX) team is a cross-functional unit of engineers, product managers, technical writers, and designers dedicated to making Paddleâs platform intuitive, reliable, and enjoyable to integrate with â treating developers as first-class customers.
- ⢠You will contribute to open-source SDKs in Go, Python, and PHP, refine API design practices, and collaborate across teams to define what exceptional developer experience means at scale, gaining deep exposure to distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and product-led engineering.
- ⢠Through hands-on ownership of features from conception to production, you will grow into leading medium-sized projects, strengthen your expertise in Go and AWS-native services, and develop a product mindset focused on solving real problems for developers â all within an inclusive, learning-oriented culture that values curiosity and craft over credentials.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Strong backend engineering experience with Go as a primary language, including production-level service development and maintenance.
- ⢠Solid understanding of API design principles and practical experience building APIs that are intuitive, consistent, and developer-friendly.
- ⢠Proven ability to independently break down medium-complexity problems, deliver features with minimal oversight, and take ownership of outcomes.
- ⢠Experience working with AWS services such as ECS, SQS, EventBridge, or similar in high-throughput, event-driven systems.
- ⢠Familiarity with SDK development, open-source library maintenance, or other developer tooling that improves integration experiences.
- ⢠A product mindset: you consider the end-user developerâs experience, not just technical correctness, when building features.
đď¸ Benefits
- ⢠Competitive salary package with stock options, retirement plans, and private healthcare coverage.
- ⢠Unlimited holiday allowance and 4 months of paid family leave, available to all parents regardless of gender.
- ⢠Annual learning fund and access to regular internal and external training to support continuous skill development.
- ⢠Flexible digital-first work model: choose remote work, office hubs, or a hybrid arrangement based on your preferences.
- ⢠Inclusive, transparent, and collaborative culture grounded in values of âPaddle for othersâ, âPaddle togetherâ, and âPaddle simplyâ.
