- • As a Software Engineer on the Engineering Tooling team at Tailscale, you will build and maintain internal tools and services that empower engineering, product, and business teams to work more efficiently and securely.
- • Day to day, you will design, build, test, and document core software components; improve CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling; analyze production data to surface issues; and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deliver end-to-end solutions that enhance productivity and system reliability.
- • Tailscale is a fully remote, early-stage company building a modern, secure network platform that simplifies how people and devices connect—backed by top-tier investors and used by teams from hobbyists to multinational corporations.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, infrastructure as code, observability, and Go-based backend development while gaining end-to-end ownership of impactful internal tooling that directly supports company-wide engineering velocity.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, infrastructure as code, and/or observability
- • Experience with developer tooling or developer experience
- • Experience with distributed systems
- • Familiarity with networks (IP addressing, routing, etc.)
- • Experience with Go programming language (a plus)
- • Familiarity with one or more SQL databases (a plus)
- • Ability to give and process constructive feedback, work independently, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- • Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic startup environment
