📋 Description

• As a Frontend Software Engineer at Homebase Labs Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping how small business teams operate by building intuitive, scalable, and high-performance frontend experiences that directly impact over 100,000 businesses and 2.5+ million workers.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and building scalable, performant frontend software using React.js and modern web technologies; creating internal tooling and improving developer workflows to empower other frontend teams; evaluating and recommending emerging frameworks and technologies to keep Homebase at the forefront of innovation; collaborating closely with engineering, design, and product teams to deliver delightful, user-centered experiences; mentoring junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing; and supporting the company’s transition to an AI-first engineering culture by adopting tools that enhance development velocity and code quality.
• You’ll be part of a bold, fast-moving engineering team at Homebase Labs Inc., a mission-driven company that builds the 'everything app' for hourly teams—providing scheduling, time clocks, payroll, communication, HR, and more to help small businesses thrive. • In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in frontend architecture and developer experience, influence technical direction across product teams, gain mentorship experience, and contribute to cutting-edge initiatives like AI-assisted development—all while working on products that make a tangible difference in the lives of small business owners and their employees.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with strong proficiency in React.js
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including modern ES6+ features
• Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and pull request-based workflows in agile environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to objectively evaluate and compare frontend frameworks and technologies
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code while mentoring others
