- • As a Software Engineer II at Tripadvisor, you will contribute to building and maintaining the Experiences platform that powers global travel bookings and operator tools, directly impacting how travelers discover and book activities worldwide.
- • You will work within a distributed, remote-first engineering team based in Kraków, collaborating with product, design, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable software that supports Tripadvisor’s mission of connecting people to meaningful travel experiences.
- • Day to day, you will design, develop, test, and deploy backend services primarily using Java, with occasional frontend work in React and TypeScript, contributing to a daily release cycle that emphasizes rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
- • You will write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and help evolve the system architecture using Kubernetes, GraphQL, SQL, and NoSQL databases on AWS, while learning and adapting to the team’s tech stack as needed.
- • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure high availability and performance of customer-facing and internal tools.
- • You will engage in agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and help foster a culture of experimentation, learning from failure, and data-driven decision making aligned with Tripadvisor’s cultural pillars.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Java or another object-oriented programming language with a strong willingness to learn and adopt Tripadvisor’s tech stack.
- • Experience with backend development, RESTful APIs, or GraphQL, and familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- • Understanding of software development lifecycle, including testing, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices.
- • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first, agile environment with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- • Commitment to learning new technologies, including React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, and AWS, as needed for the role.
