📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer II - Frontend - Pro - Infra at Kraken, you will contribute to building the future of crypto by developing and maintaining Kraken's flagship trading web application, a high-performance, real-time React platform used by professional traders globally.
• Day to day, you will design, develop, and maintain features in a large multi-product React application, optimize real-time UI performance under heavy WebSocket load, build and evolve WebSocket and Web Worker layers for live market data, and ensure observability through Sentry, Mixpanel, and structured logging.
• You will join the globally distributed Pro team, which owns Kraken's flagship trading application and is responsible for shipping features, defending performance and stability, and maintaining production observability across Spot, Margin, Futures, Equities, Earn, and other trading surfaces.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in frontend performance optimization, real-time systems, AI-assisted development workflows, and technical leadership through mentorship, code reviews, and contributions to architectural decisions involving state management, component design, and shared libraries.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software development with a focus on production web applications
• Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and strong proficiency with the modern React ecosystem
• Experience building real-time UIs with WebSockets and Web Workers
• Experience working with LLM coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot or similar) to accelerate development while producing production-ready code
• Hands-on experience with React Query or similar
• Practical experience with production user monitoring and observability
